Been wondering if to go back and redo the stones on the flat piece recently. Anyone think it's worth it? Paintover shows the proposal.

Working on my first PBR texturing pass on this door. Curious for some feedback. [Blocked Image: http://i.imgur.com/khEbziv.jpg] The tiles are a recent addition; [Blocked Image: http://i.imgur.com/nLEbMED.jpg] latest animated render; DoorWIP2 - YouTube
can now import them using vtf editor but can only export 1 at a time. Any workarounds?
thanks but that doesn't seem to open up textures, only materials (which I couldn't locate anyway).
thanks, now having trouble opening it in photoshop. Have placed the .dll and .8bi into correct folders and reopened photoshop but can't find an VTF import option? tried opening a vtf but doesn't recognise file format.
downloaded those but still not quite sure what to do? can't seem to locate anything tf2 on on gfc
I don't have any experience of this type of thing but I'm wanting to extract textures from TF2 and keep a personal libary of them for reference. I have TF2 on steam but not sure what to do next? Heard about hammer tool but think that's just for previewing them? Any advise would be much appreciated.
wow aaron you are the FIRST to notice that little touch, well I say a touch but it was an 'happy accident' I sort of liked it so left it.
Started work on this again after almost a year ![]()

Graham Young is a fictional character. I knew the film would upset people with it's views and since those are not views I share thought it would be better to hide away from it. Also the modeling/texturing/animation etc isn't a showcase of my best work, it was intentionally rough. I've also been getting death threats so probably all the for best! ![]()
Hey guys,
I created Nintendo: A Sad Story on my own and released it 5 days ago, it now has over 230,000 views ![]()
Work is now underway on the followup and am looking for potential help. Love this little community and felt it was the perfect place to start looking, if you want to help with any LP modelling you can find more details at
if youtube video not working...
Hey,
Have started thinking about my new project, the followup to Nintendo : A Sad Story. Have the basic core idea roughed out and can start on it soon. I'm currently inbetween jobs so spare time right now is spent on portfolio though I'm trying to direct the work so it's usable in the next animation. At the moment am just keen to know if there is any interest in such a project, main thing I'm after is
- passion for the original animation and it's direction. Also a love for Zelda.
- creating little environment props and pieces with a slight twist. Same with any characters though right now there is only 1 character required.
- I'll be charge of all texturing/scenes/directing/editing/sfx etc
- Much smaller project than the other film.
- Keen to hear from 3D Max Character Studio animators even if only for advise.
- You'll only be credited though I'd like to reward any great work with a little something.
If anyone is interested please PM me with a link to any Lowpoly work you have done.
Hey I made some of those textures in UDK (http://www.caponeart.com/SLS_Unreal3_map_04.jpg)
I don't really agree that looking at textures while playing in the game is as effective for studying as looking at the original flat where you can really go in and study details such as edgewear. In the game it's usually downsized and maybe the lighting is affecting it, plus you can't study the spec/normal maps.
Yeah never looked into it at all. I don't have any PC games to grab textures from, was just wondering if anyone puts them up anywhere.
Trying to find texture packs from games, are there any resources out there so I can study textures to help improve my own?
Hey guys,
Anyone know of any portfolio/work featuring nice stylistic content, along the lines of Overlord, World of Warcraft etc?
Hey P, totally neeeeed to go and have a beer with you soon. Just not stopped since leaving the studio, either been out of Cambridge or going insane in my bedroom working all the hours on various projects. Am actually going to York for 7-10 days tomorrow just to chill out a bit and get away from my workstation.
Here is a flat of some of the textures I did,

Nearly there. Next is the colour map, I've set it all up in UV2 and done tests and it's really working well. This is really going to help make everything feel more unique and hide the tiling. Then the final step will be to go in and adjust geometry to be more natural and create light damage.
