    BitGenerations

I think its interesting what Nintendo seems to be doing with BitGenerations and TouchGenerations. To me it looks like they're trying to legitimize games that don't necessarily have 'HD' graphics.

In the NS mapping community, a number of guys had a hardon for Feng Zu. So if you look for it, you can see parts of maps that are either copied wholesale or heavily inspired by Feng Zu's designs.

Basically I'm curious as to what I should have in the way of skills or what programs/processes I'd be expected to be familiar with in the industry.

Wow, has it really been that long? Sometimes I forget how long I've been following NS.

I'm not really sure if this is something you can fix, but the realistic looking water doesn't really fit in with the whole theme of the level.

Since I'm in the mood to pull out somewhat old stuff. Here's ns_lucid, finished in the last half of 2005. I'm not sure how long the dev cycle for it was exactly, but I think it was around 1-2 months, (which is rather fast for a ns_ map).

The lighting and general theme for this map came about from me being tired of the 'XTREEM LITING' that is/was popular in ns maps. On a related note, I'm sure dissonance will be pleased to know that all the lighting in this map was done purely with point lights (I don't think I even used light_spot).

Actually I never finished attrition. When I started working on it I had the goal of having each room and corridor architecturally unique (within reason). Needless to say that became a bit difficult.

btw I found the old wip thread

But yeah, I may end up finishing it off.

I've never really been fond of texture lighting. Placing each point light manually means you have more control over the final look.
