I actually like it. I went into the theater expecting just a god awful movie as the trailer did the final film no justice. If you go in there expecting a carbon copy of the doom story, or if you go in there expecting some kind of philisophical movie that has some kind of a point to it, you WILL be dissapointed. However, if you go in there simply because you want to see a sci-fi movie with a mix of horror, action, and a little comedy, then you wont be dissapointed.

I would have to agree with a few reviews that this would have to be The Rock's first bearable movie. Sure, there are some meaningless subplots and cliche'd jokes and one liners, but as i said, thats the kind of movie it is. Think of a cross between Aliens, Resident Evil, and the Doom videogames, and that is pretty much what Doom is. If you liked two of the three, go see it. If you didnt like any of them, go see The Weather Man (also a great film).

I recommend it to everyone who has played the original doom. See it once in theaters. I give it somewhere between 7 and 8 out of 10, and yes, I probably will buy the DVD when it comes out.

got an amd 64 3500 with a 7800 GTX, runs at 30-80fps at 1280 with everything maxed. not bad.

But I agree. Games these days just cant get the ending right. I must admit though, I did love HL2s ending. It works really well.

I retract my statement. In playing through it again (not speed rushing, just another casual play through), it in fact, took 12 minutes to complete.

I just love how earlier Valve said that Lost Coast was about 30 minutes of gameplay.

Quake 4 is crashing alot on load. Crashing to the point of completely locking up my system with the only fix being a hard restart. Kinda sucks when you're experimenting with the editor quite frequently.

you also have more leeway with CRTs when displaying a res other than native. Then again, non-native res' tend to burn out the CRT quicker...

I have two CRTs hooked up to this bad boy

One 17 inch HKC, and one 17 inch CTX. I prefer these, the color just seems to be richer and there is no chance of ghosting. I went around looking for LCDs, but i was hard pressed to find one that didnt noticably ghost my games for a reasonable price. These 17s only cost me about $100 a piece and i think i get better color and quality than a 3$00 17 inch LCD.
