Got a 128mb video card, Philip?
got an amd 64 3500 with a 7800 GTX, runs at 30-80fps at 1280 with everything maxed. not bad.
it ran okayish for me when i had everything full at 1600x1200, which is good considering i have 512 mb of ram, a 6600, and a 3 ghz processor.
the game looked absolutely amazing, the guys face was really cool and it was just a great looking scene. the shader works perfectly and i really like the effect. the commentary was really neat too. as for it being a level it wasn't much there, there are like 2 ambush scenes that were difficult and then the rest was ridiculously easy because of the rocket launcher.
i experienced some strange bug from the get go where i couldn't get hurt by enemies so i had a lot of exploring time. i wish they did a little more as to the launcher thing, it needed to be a more dramatic impact on that village and a little bigger effect from the firing, it looked dumb to have the shell go into the village and just disappear behind a house. for primarily being a tech demo it looked great and showed off the technology well
i dont know what some of you are complaining about.
it was a free demo to show off some new things they had been working on
hard. did i mention it was free? whats 300 MB? you can just delete it if
its too good for you anyway.
seriously it's not like it's supposed to be hl3.
Btw. why did the Lost Coast take longer to get out than DoD:Source?!
DoD was for money, Lost Coast was free ![]()

Resolution and settings on there highest ![]()
layed on hard and watched been looking at leveldesign and the budget screen so it took me 20 minutes to complete it.
Going to play it again for the commentary now.
The combine gun was a bit disapointing, wel I didn't really see it, only the ammo load elevator ![]()
*edit*
Been looking in wireframe at the map, the biggest part are models and the top building is a model until you get close.
everything on max..

philipk i have roughly literally half your set up and i can run it at high res with high settings and low aa/af. i dont know whats wrong but you should smoke me in this area
Yeah, mine's significantly lesser and runs it reasonably well. The only thing that'd really spring to mind is outdated drivers -- a very recent if not the most recent Nvidia driverset fixed a number of compatabilities with Source's HDR. The driverset was tailored towards DOD:S, but I expect that it covers TLC too.
You've probably got it, though.
yeah worked when i got some new drivers. ran quite good.
What it looks like for me:

It was far more than i expected from a 'tech demo'. Very nice leveldesign, i loved it. (including water shader)
Yeah, but they really have to do something about the 'flat' appearance water has... it's mainly because of the edges, I guess, but look at that shot above... the sharp angle of the water on the left really sticks out like a sore thumb in an otherwise really good-looking hyper-real setting.
triangle water...
har har
I played it on easy, but it was a bit too easy.
Solution: ai_disable 0
Buggy.
nexus does your card not support AA or something
its looks so much better for me than the rest of you guys, ill post some screens tomorrow maybe
