The main things that bother me is some of the stretched textures on the pavement kerbs, the color of the fog (as mentioned) and the road texture that you've used. I'm not sure wether you've ramped up the scale or it's the size of your streets that's making it look wierd.
Rest looks good though !

Happy Birthday d00d.

-
That makes it almost worth buying it.

I wet my pants everytime someone mentions Diablo 3.

No, it doesn't kill the fps. It's been fine for everyone whos played the map in terms of framerate. I guess if you've got a really low end pc then, yeah it will be slow.

Very nice, been following Insurrection for quite some time now (although you're a bit slow updating your site :S)
Yeah we've been out of the mapping loop for like a month now. I looked at what I'd made, it sucked. So started over. Then everyone else followed suite so we've had nothing to post about.
Quote from Marcosgreat work! looks very good~ only thing i think could be improved is the lights on the sidewalk. looks abit too yellow, but thats just a matter of taste
btw, you the guy that made that kickass ns map?
Yep, think so too. Overtuned the saturation a bit too much. Ns map, the round thing? Yar.

RD : I guess it's a matter of preference, but I'll give it a shot and see how it looks.

Thanks for da komments.

Oooh good to see you here man, and I'm digging this map. I'd prefer it if it wasn't City 17 personally, but as it's for a mod I guess you don't get that option. Reminds me of the atmosphere in the Innsmouth levels of Call of Cthulhu, and that's a compliment
What you doing with Drift by the way? AG2 seems somewhat abandoned, so you considering releasing for HL2DM or perhaps HL2DM Pro?Eyyy man
I've always been a sucker for City-17 styled maps and I can't seem to shift the love to anything else right now.
. AG2, yeah shame that kind of just suddenly died from out of nowhere. Drift is pretty dead in the water too at the mo. I completely ran out of ideas and the motivation to finish it... so it ended up looking quite rubbish when I knew I could do a lot better - but lacked the will to continue. I'll come back to it one day
edit
Captain P : the Myst/fog is actually from the rain, but the drops are the same color as the fog so it's difficult to see. If you look hard enough you can just about make out that it's raining. It's really pissing it down in game but it hardly shows up in the screens unfortunatley.

Hey, thought I'd post some WIP screens of an area I'm doing for a small mod called Insurrection. Yeah, it does use a large amount of Half-Life 2 content but Farles was nice enough to model some new trees.
There are a few things that could do with improving - but for now :[Blocked Image: http://dux.interlopers.net/city1.jpg]

Ok, lets try again! I think my monitors sorted now, so these should look how they're supposed to. If not, I'll cry. Maybe. Ok, I won't, but I'll be upset. I forgot to add the light casting the light spot into my .rad file, so ignore that if you will.

I agree with Mac, but please make it draker! It would look so much better
Indeed, that is now the plan. But as I've mentioned in posts before, it was very dark for me before I sorted my monitors gamma and brightness out. I agree that it does look seriously overbright and pretty ugly now I see what everyone else sees. I'm a b00n.
It must be pretty obvious that I never intended it to look this bright though...

Cheers.

Sounds like your monitor brightness settings are fluffed to me, it looks incredibly bright on my end. I'd suggest using Adobe Gamma to configure your monitor to an appropriate brightness. If you really do see that as dark though, something must be pretty badly configured. Do you see the box you type your message into on these forums as white?
Yeah, pure white.
[EDIT] Hmm, I think I've corrected it to an extent now. The brightness seems to be more even at least. And ack, those do look quite bright now. :-?

You need to increase -gamma in HLRAD, because it looks close to fullbright :-?What happened with your ns_ map btw?
I canned it because it wasn't turning out how I wanted. I would have announced it's cancelation, but I doubt anyone would have cared much, so I let it die.
Ok, thanks for the comments! One thing though, the lighting, as I see it is quite dark to me. I'm wondering - do you all have a high brightness on your monitors as the screenshots to me look quite dark and not very bright. :-?
I always have this problem when I make a Natural-Selection map, I get the brightness just right (for my monitor anway) then show it to someone else and they either get a completely dark sceenshot or a mega super fullbright one. Which then makes me look like bit of a b00n.
Either that of course, or my Monitor's bollocks. Knowing my luck, probably the latter.

Hey, I've come to get shot down
. Well, ok perhaps not, I hope.Anyway, what I'm posting is some very early screenshots of a Natural-Selection Combat map (I know, another co map hits the curcit) that I've been fiddling away with for a few days now on and off. I'm merely posting for any comments that people may have on these few early screens that I've created in hope of perhaps being able to improve upon them some more if possible, or just any kind words that people may have to give. I haven't done any serious mapping for a while, so I'm a lil rusty at the moment... hopefully it'll all come flooding back to me soon.

Also - the lighting may appear seriously bright and washed out to some of you (possibly) if so then you're Monitors gamma is somewhat higher than mine so if they do appear to have a washed out look to them then that isn't the actual lighting.
(I'm sure you could have figured that out, but I'll just mention it - just incase.)So, uhmm, cheers.
