Enough with fucking remakes. That's all the film industry does today. The prequels are the prequels leave them alone and move on.

So I threatened to post my picture on here a while ago. Time is now I guess. I took this after my first gym session this year to track my progress, etc. Need to work on my forearms and hit some more PB's.

Starting off 2017 with a big bang. Got a new gym partner, went to a new gym, smashed it. Haven't gone at it that hard for a while, was good. Hit some new PB's.

Just got back from seeing it. I had to see it in crappy 3D but whatever. The film itself I thought was very good, I enjoyed it a lot more than the last offering.
Spoiler - The CGI on Peter Cushing was impressive but still very obvious and had a big uncanny valley about it. For me it looked good until he moved or spoke and the magic died. CGI Leia was the same but less obvious as the model had 2 seconds of screen time. - Darth Vader totes stole the show for me. The little scene of him in the tank was great but the best scene in the entire film for me was him in the corridor, damn. As soon as I saw that dark corridor I got that FEELING. The feeling of OH SHIT HERE IT COMES DON'T DISAPPOINT ME NOW. Totally went as expected and was 10 times as awesome as expected. As mentioned, definite highlight of the film. - The space battle was epic with some scenes sneaked in from A New Hope. Sneaky but I noticed you, very good. - Gave 0 shits about the 2 "central" characters. The supporting cast was way more interesting. Big robot guy was my favourite. - They make Stormtroopers look bad ass but they still end up being as useless as ever. Sighface - Who noticed all the awesome Moustaches the Rebel pilots were sporting? Loved it

The moments something happened. It took control away, did a cinematic then expected you to give enough of a shit to be paying attention to press Q really fast. The bridge collapsing for example.

Only part I didn't enjoy was them QTE's 
You could feel this coming with Crysis 2 and its QTE's that got slipped in.
Thief invented first person stealth and is by a legendary studio and design team. Mass Effect was an incredible experience along with it's sequel. Dragon Age also fell into the same vein.
Ryse. It's basic. It's linear to the point where you might as well be a train on rails. There's no depth. There's no anything. It's just graphics. There are guys here who worked on it, I'm not bashing them before anyone thinks that. The art side is fantastic - no one ever denied that. But the "game" part is not even present.
There are many masterpieces such as
System Shock 2 Deus Ex Half-Life Dragon Age Origins Mass Effect Thief the dark project
But for this genre? I think it's classed as Action Adventure, so: God of War, Uncharted, Zelda. Those fall under the big M word for me.
