Yes Squad, it took them 4 games but this was the Belgium I remembered. To be fair though. There was no defense and it still took them an amazing number of tries to score. That will be very different against Argentina (who aren't convincing anyone this entire tournament btw). Still, great entertainment so thank you Belgium.

Yeah, this is more the kind of football we need to play than whatever we played in the first three games. If we continue like this, I'll be happy whatever the outcome is against Argentina

Wow, this was really a thrilling game (for me).Took so long for us to score, but Lukaku was really the gamechanger now (although I think Origi played a very good game as well).

Howard was absolutely amazing, apparantly he was the goalkeeper on a WC game who managed the most saves in a single game since 1966! He was deserverdly awarded MVP imo.

I'm glad we proven you wrong though, Sprony So now there's four South-American and four European teams left.

The floor seems visually not popular at all, so I'll investigate what else I can do there I suppose

The floor looks a little funny indeed, but I think it mainly does because of the texture underneath. Maybe some frosted glass like this would look better?

Or transparant glass with a non-accessible area underneath it:

Other than that, I like it so far

Yeah, shit happens but biting shouldn't be one of them. This is simply unacceptable. Have you seen the teeth marks in that dude his shoulder? Banned for life I say.

He should be banned for life. And at the very very least be banned for the rest of the tournament. But it's FIFA's call, so I wouldn't be hugely suprised if no punishment is given at all ... Jezus, what's wrong with that guy?

Here's a simple gameplay video which I just recorded of Door Kickers and it's the replay of a mission. Basically, you plan how your troopers move, which angles they should cover and when etc. A really nifty feature is that troopers can be ordered to wait at certain points until they hear one of three go codes which you can issue (alpha, bravo, charlie - you hear these in the video). This allows for some neat coordination. Very rewarding game and I highly recommend it if you liked Frozen Synapse or if you're a fan of tactical games like Rainbow Six. I've only played 4 hours but there's definitely potential here.

Sounds good, I think I'll grab it =)

    You should! I'm hooked

There's also Workshop support, so you can keep on playing.

    Here's a video I made:

This Belgium team received a ton of praise before the World Cup but so far it were two of the most boring matches I've seen. Today they didn't deserve to win either because Russia, especially in the second half, was much better. But hey, that's football. Still, I'm glad our southern neighbors have made it through to the next round. It gives them enough room to make good on all that praise

True. I was expecting a lot more from this game, but we didn't deliver with good football.

Congratz on the first place and nine points btw!

So isn't Group G the only one where all 4 countries are technically still in it?

    1) If USA and Germany tie, they both advance and Ghana and Portugal are eliminated

    2) If either USA or Germany wins, that team advances but for the losing team, if Ghana and Portugal tie then both Ghana and Portugal are out and the loser of USA/Germany advances

    3) If there is a winner in Ghana/Portugal and a winner in USA/Germany, then the winner of Ghana/Portugal only advances if their goal differential is greater than the loser of USA/Germany, right?

    4) If #3 happens, then if Germany is the loser of its game then it would have to lose badly along with the winner of Ghana/Portugal winning by a big margin to overcome the current German +4 GD and overcome either the current -1 GD or Portugal's -4 GD.

    OR...

Am I misunderstanding that if there is a tie for points they will go by the GD first, then by heads up who beat whom like in NFL or something?

Regardless, futbol is quickly overtaking football as my favorite spectator sport.

If I'm not mistaken, Ghana advances if they win against Portugal (obviously) and if USA wins against Germany, but only if they have a better goal difference. This currently stands at -1 and 4 for Germany, so not a very likely scenario, but still technically possible.

Portugal advances if they win against Ghana and if Germany wins against USA and if they have a better goal difference. It's at -4 and USA's is at 1, so also not very likely.

    Damn Steam Sales!

Bought some of the games on my wishlist: Broforce, Space: Mutant Blobs and Door Kickers (still alpha, but reviews seem to be really positive so far). Oh, and I also got Mirror's Edge, never played it as well and 2,5 € is almost ridiculous

My God, Greece - Japan was a horrible game (waste of time). I was cheering for Japan though, since the Greek play superboring football and once again proved that.

After one of them got send off, they tried (and managed) to win time at every possible occasion: falling to the ground after even the slightest contact and then playing dead, kicking the ball away when the referee gives a free kick, ...

I hope Ivory Coast will kick their ass so much (also because I want Ivory Coast to survive the groups phase ).

It's what I was affraid off. We played extremely nervous the first 10 or 15 minutes. After Algeria scored, they put up a wall in front of their goal, so it was hard to get through.
I'm just glad we kept cool and eventually scored 2 goals. Hopefully they'll play better next match though!

As a Belgian I hate to say this, but the Netherlands really put off a show

I didn't really see this one coming though (as in, a 1-5 victory), since the Netherlands' team is a bit inexperienced (not counting their attack with Van Persie, Sneijder and Robben obviously).

Spain got a penalty for free, Diego Costa probably should have been send off the field for the head-butt (although it wasn't hard, it's about the principle imo).

First goal of Van Persie was out of this world btw! Super awesome Here's hoping we will see more football like this, it's what the WC should be about
