I guess I can post this in here...

It's time again for an update, since the last one was about 1 month ago.First of all the playtesters started testing again. At the moment they are mainly testing the maps for glitches and gameplay improvement.

A couple of new talented guys recently joined the development team. Let's start with the level designers.

Jenz, FMPONE, moroes, propaganda will be creating new enviroments and levels for Insurgency.

Deviator will be responsible for designing the new interface.

Stukov and Optichelix who were just playtesting Insurgency before have been promoted to full members of the development team, and are now leading and coordinating the US playtests.

Dennis, who is active as an 2D/3D artist for Insurgency is now taking over the lead from Grimes and Ralfst3r for the EU playtesters.

His expierence as a professional playtester for Guerilla (http://www.guerrilla-games.com/) will certainly help him with his new task.

The coding department also got some reinforcement, who will help speed up the development of the game.

More information about them will possible be released in the next announcement.

Tarky is working hard on the Insurgency network sites at the moment and is almost finished.

The official sites and forums will be back online again as soon as the design for the network has been done.

And finally here are a couple of new screenshots for you:

if someone told me about this stuff a month ago i would have called them for bullshit quite strongly, i would have never believed that the half life engine was able to dynamically let you see into other areas of the map, let alone see players. id say its quite surprising that its part of the engine, maybe they added a whole lot of code to the engine that will let developers do even more crazy stuff with mods. Who cares if its a leap ahead or not in games.

I don't think its that difficult to implent actually:

It's not about the portals per se... It's about _HOW_ Valve integrates it into the game(play).

Just like every game out there can use physics... but only Valve managed to have a great interaction between player and physics by using the gravity gun.

So, the first question would be 'what has the team behind Insurgency been working on?' Well, during those silent times we have outdone ourselves and we worked very hard on the first public beta 'candidate' release (BC1) for the playtesters, who are very impatient to get their hands on it! We are very pleased to say that we are reaching the end of the tunnel and are also very impatient to finally release it to our precious testers. You’ll probably hear from us again when that time has come.

Since we want to make it up for the lack of updates and communication, we first of all bring you some brand new .plans from our hard working developers. Be sure to check them out in the .plan section on our forums. Some of them include screenshots of their work in progress, such as level editor shots from 2d-chris's latest map. Also be sure to check out Skybex's .plan which is featuring an exclusive sceenshot from his Croatian level.

We also have finally updated our Developer Showcase, which features some great weapon animations by Strykerwolf along with some other cool stuff. Don't miss it! If you want to view the Developer Showcase, you have to be a registered forum member.

This all sounds really cool, but what about some real sounds? Insurgency features some very nice ingame music thanks to the talented musician, Rich Douglas. Today you have the opportunity to listen to one of the menu tracks created by Rich, that plays once Insurgency is opened. It's called 'Insurgency Preparation' and can be downloaded by clicking on the image below (save target as).

tr_closecombat1 and tr_closecombat2 where my first released maps.

Some time after that I made my first decent map, de_dust2on2.

I remember DaveJ saying it was the best map using the dust texture set after de_dust on the cs.net forums

    Here is a review lol:
