I like brushes. But that's probably because I suck at modeling.

The rough colour of where the landscape hits the sky, so it blends into the skybox.

Ah, well ofcourse, silly that i didnt think of that

Yes, and I'm still waiting to see the good game, mind you.

There was a FunCom seminar at my school where this guy from funcom just talked about how they make games and showed alot of videos from the making of the longest journey and conan... They showed alot of exclusives too, things that has only been shown once or twice somewhere else, like videos where all they show is some in game cimmerian mountains, or just a 1 minute ingame video of some horses (with riders:P) riding formation..

and ofcourse that e3 movie, i think he showed that 3 times;)

Edit, and oh yeah, it looked really good ;D

I'm with ferret on this one. I dont see the point of them stopping the hl1 version and wasting all the work. Oh well

Skjalg, dig up the pics that showed Hipshots textures. The shapes of the rocks was great as well, you might learn a thing or 2 from it (especially the 2nd pic of each texture in that thread)

Heh, thanks for the tip, but ive already detailed some more in some parts in the background there... Alot of what you see is actually just subdivide'd squares, so to speak... Ive just fleshed out the map really generic first (to test gameplay), after that im going to make the rocks look a little better

Right now im working on making the ocean (behind the guy) look better.. Not really sure how to make an ocean look good tho... Been trying to learn something from that sdk_coast map, but i cant make it look good.. I will post some more pictures from the map once its finished compiled..

you should adjust the colour of the fog.. otherwise it looks like a good start to me.

Adjust it to what? now its grey, with some slight blue..

Looks very good Insta, could use some more stuff in the streets, but i guess all those models/textures will arrive with dod

Not sure what to say, its for a mod thats third person Action RPG... if that explains anything its medieval, as you can see

want crits on the mountainslopes and lighting (all which is in orange/grey is just placeholders for models anyways)

edit; oh, and ive used one of the cool skies by Hipshot.. gj^^

I think its hard to make the rooms look not so similar, atleast lighting wise.. its a castle, in the medival times, its not like they had neon lights in different colors...

but you could experiment with the sun shining through different colors of glass or something...

I want to move my location to Narvik (which is abit more north in Norway)

    btw, good job

oh and, put my name on the actual city... when i searched for "Narvik", google earth gave me the name in the middle of the fjord.. the city (as you might can see) is a little bit to the south

    I guess nobody likes FunCom

    Aw well,

    Blizzard

    ID

    Valve

Gearbox (dont really know why, liked opforce)

Dice (oh yeah baby World War action)

uhm, BlueByte.. I love the old settlers games...

Sid Meier i guess, since the civ series are awesome.. but pirates suck, especially the new pirates... (just repetitive)

and last, but not least Funcom (its norwegian, what more reason do i need, (THEY ARE MAKING THE CONAN GAME FOR CROMS SAKE)

Ive probably forgotten some, but as long as ive mentioned blizzard i guess its okay...

Oh and, Funcom isnt that bad guys

    • September 7, 2005 at 1:51 PM

Well, no, its no LEAK, that would've been easy to spot since the compile spits out "LEAKED LEAKED LEAKED !!!"

But yeah... It was a result of a handful of dust between my fan and cooler. I scraped it off with a knife and my CPU temperature dropped from 81 degrees C to 40.

    woah!
