Steppe, thats a problem pretty much everywhere in the world. Nobody checks signature. But if you ever lose your card it's your own fault that you lose money if you don't immediately report it.

I use online banking for everything.

I'm using MasterCard as credit card... I have a credit limit of dollars... So basically I can buy whatever I want up to a certain amount and at the end of the month I get a bill for my credit card which I can pay whenever I want, (with interest of course)... It's pretty cool.

I just saw it. I think it was a good movie but it could have been awesome if it had been 1 1/2 hours longer. It seemed to end just at the climax of everything and way too abrupt.

Also, I found the reason for the retreat of the alien spheres to be pretty lame. So just because he saw the boy and the woman cry about that dead guy he all of a sudden sees the good in humanity and wants to help them? In the beginning of the movie he said that the aliens had been watching the human race for a loooong time, surely they would have seen people crying over eachother's deaths before??? It didn't really make sense.

Well one thing is clear, there is clearly a need for more order and security for events like this. This should have been supervised by local police like any other major event with huge crowds stuck in a tiny area. You can say anything you want about this not being feasible for the stores because they want to sell as much shit as possible but it doesn't matter. People's safety should always be number one priority. Even if it makes it a more pain-in-the-ass experience.....at least you don't end up dead or in hospital or with somebody's brains on your sole.

Midway Sold for $0.0012 per Share

The 20-year-old Mortal Kombat Publisher Midway has been sold by its owning investor Sumner Redstone for the rock-bottom price of $100,000, a Midway regulatory filing confirms.

Sumner Redstone, the 85-year-old chairman of National Amusements sold the company at $0.0012 per share on November 28. Midway investors National Amusement Inc. and Sumco also sold a combined 68 million Midway shares. Combined, the three parties sold approximately an 87.2 percent stake in the company.

Though that selling price seems absurd at face value, in selling Midway Redstone will make an $800 million tax saving for National Amusements. The firm is reported to have an outstanding debt of $1.6 billion.

A Wall Street Journal reported said that an investor, Mark Thomas, purchased Midway.

The future of Midway, which recently understood it may be delisted from the NY Stock Exchange, hangs in the balance.

    Update: Added Midway filing information.

OK, Black Friday has officially gotten out of hand. A 34-year-old WalMart employee was trying to hold back the crowds at a Long Island store this morning at 5am, when they took the doors off their hinges and stormed the store. The man fell down and was trampled by over 200 people as he gasped for air. It's sad and despicable, and it's equally the fault of the dehumanized shoppers and the WalMart store it happened at.

Why was there no line set up? Why didn't they let in a reasonable amount of people at a time? What kind of method is it to just allow hundreds of people to cram up against the doors, waiting for them to open? They may have wanted some photo op of people surging through the doors, but they willfully created a very dangerous situation.

Can you imagine if, say, the Apple store did this when the iPhone was launched? Or when the Wii was launched? When a large amount of people are expected for a retail event, organization is needed, otherwise it creates a dangerous situation. This man's death is on WalMart's hands.

As for the people who did the trampling, well, I hope their cheap crap was worth it. They'll have to live with the human costs of their deals for the rest of their lives. [NY Daily News]
