Hey if you fools have nothing useful to contribute can you simply not reply at all? Your brainless flaming is getting annoying.
-
Jezpuh can you leave that shit to EOT.
First warning.

True dat, fetter. I'd like to see people making their own props. But I guess that will never happen except maybe if some Mapcorians hook up =)

The point is, most of the games that pay royalties only either never make it onto store shelves or sell shitty. As a result you get zero to none money for the work you did.
I'd never work my ass for hours on end to be paid royalties only for a game nobody's gonna buy. A stable company that has the potential to make a nicely selling game should be capable of paying their workers PROPERLY.

I think most people dont put props in their DM maps for the looks but for the gameplay so you can use the gravity gun.
Looks very nice so far, insta. More pics!!!

Personally I never understood the concept of posting a first map on a forum to get constructive comments on it.
What you should do first is think about what you've created and how it is different from levels in other games and what you could do to get your work to a higher quality level. Right now all you need to worry about is improving your skills. Frankly, we can't say much about your map because it is just too far away from a quality level where constructive comments would actually help you improving on it. Again, you need to work on your skills first, make a bunch of maps. Release them, see how they play etc. and THEN come back when you have something interesting going.
This is not meant to sound assholeish but I realize it might. I just think it would be better to tell you right away than see two pages of "you need to make it less blocky" "you need to use more polys" "your lighting is too dark". You are new to mapping. And we all started where you are right now. I'm excited to see how you get from point A to point B now

Now somebody wants to buy EA

....and mine

which one's which, blaz?

try placing it in the same folder as your files

so then you join a server with 3 guys from your buddylist and the same problem arises...

Looks like a good start.
Here are some tips:
-you have a lot of small differently colored lights. Takes away from the atmosphere and makes it look like a danceclub. Stick to a maximum of 3 different colors in one scene, preferably less unless used cleverly. . In the first pic alone theres white, red, yellow, green and blue. Go for ONE clear lighting theme and stick with that rather than putting a ton of different lights in just for the sake of adding random colors. It needs less randomness and more focused lighting that helps the atmosphere.
- the buildings need more details like trims, ventilation shafts, rain pipes, electricity boxes on the roof, etc..
- smooth out your geometry more. All your curbs are completely square right now. Add some slopes, rounden off the corners etc.
You're off to a good start here, I'd like to see you improving on the visuals bit more though
