well I heard it as "Bad artists copy, great artists steal"... but either way its similar I guess
When I thought about that quote I like to think of it as this: Art perhaps seems to always get recycled, the renaissance took from the greeks and romans, Cubism took from impressionism/african art etc... Artists who are not great, try and copy the ideas and techniques or whatever from past artists, But great artists steal those ideas, hold them, and turn them into something of their own...
because when you steal something it becomes your own possession, but when you copy, its still that item...
I guess from as far back as you can go art has always been trying to get at the same thing and each great artist has their own way of doing it...

Yo, I am planning a trip london by myself this summer and i know some mapcorians are from the UK and I was wondering besides the obvious tourist attractions what are some places and things I should check out while I am there, like night life etc?
And also, I reckon that many europeans dont take to kindly to us american folk, so like I have seriously heard that when you go to europe you should say your from canada.. is that really true? maybe less true for london?
I dunno I am really exicted about it, so if you guys know of anything good in london let me know thanks

...and its all thanks for Mapcore!
"The video game industry, which supported 144,000 full-time jobs and accounted for more than $8 billion in game sales in 2004, had an $18 billion impact on the U.S. economy that year, according to a new study to be released on Wednesday.
Estimates call for video game sales to grow to $15 billion by 2010. Industry employment is expected to leap nearly 75 percent to 250,000 jobs by 2009."

Your in control of your life, and your emotions, because your in control of your existence and the universe and everything that goes with it. If you want to live a happy life, you can do it no matter your situation, it is just hard to do and may take time. If you want to live a sad depressing life, you will reguardless of your situation. You can control your emotions (this can be shown scientifically by how the hypothalamus produces peptides etc) Its hard to do for some people, but its possible.
You exist as a neural network, your life is that neural network, you choose how you want it to be. This can stand true for even the farthest extreme examples.
You create reality, you create the one truth in the world, which is reality, or existence or life or whatever you want to call it, I suppose its your right to cease existence. Although I believe it is possible, many cases perhaps very hard but still possible, that all who choose to commit suicide due to extreme depression or whatever can turn those emotions around and lead happy fulfilling lives.
Everythings mental... The mind has no limitations, however there are barriers which are nearly impossible to break, and it is at these barriers where we run into problems.

I think they are all pathetic for being into WoW this much...

you dont need to give up anything for zbrush, you just put into your pipeline.
Make awsome highres models in zbrush export a relativley low res obj and apply textures and normal maps in max or maya or xsi or whatever you want.
easy as pie, plus its awsome to texture in zbrush

I was thinking about getting some designs printed on tshirts, but I want something more professional than like cafepress...
So like maybe a company that works with you more closesy and they can ship the shirts directly to you...( or whichever way it would work out the best)
Has anyone done this kind of thing before? And if so where did you do it? locally or on the internet?
thanks for any info

those are hot; there like on fire man, good job, Try putting them in a scene and make a photorealistic rendering, because the shaders you got on them now work pretty well. (that can help your lighting/shader/rendering skills)

theres a wire frame
Yes, now that I am vray I am able to render it at a much higher res and will do that,
thanks for your feedback and the plug.

The storm idea is a good one. I was thinking about making a giant tidal wave in the background and calling the peice Atlantis, I think I may do that
And also thanks for the contast example too, will take that into consideration!

Hey guys, I did more work on that empire 3d scene
[Blocked Image: http://jonmdesign.net/work/3d/sunrise01.jpg]
I am still planning on working on it a bit more so I figured I would post it here and get some ideas from mapcore (whose feedback I truly appreciate) before I finalize it. But it is done for the most part.
I rendered this with finalRender, but it took like 50 hours or so, which is a bit too much, so I switched over to vRay, render times are much better now...

Great stuff
I'd make the headcrab killing grandpa black and white with more contrast
Really nice work though!

All the music from the Rainbow Six games... (how can you guys forget that?)

this is good; it allows the viewer to create their own narrative by looking at these seemingly unrelated photos
try some more with different photo's/combinations

Quote from Kamikazi!
Just get in the car and start driving one direction until you hit no houses. I found a cool location by doing that. It was 45 minutes away, but it was worth it.
haha bic lives in suburban hell just like me... he would have to drive maybe 2.5-3hrs before the houses end (in montauk etc)
and even there is still pretty populated
Bic, try going to into the city... tons of places for pics there
-
greats shots by all
but Kami wins...
they are good off-center compositions, photos by the others are too centered so they lose some of their potential
good photos tho

-
how did you edit out the people?
