Followed this a bit over at polycount and I'm really glad that this kind of optimization mindset is promoted. It's an impressive scene and no doubt good use of texture memory there. It's kind of a fresh breeze among all the "2048x2048 normal, diffuse, spec" trashcan props out there.

I tried the demo and really didn't find it very fun at all. Wonder if this is a wait and buy when it's cheaper or not buy at all...
I loved the first one and I've probably played through it 2 or 3 times actually, but the second one I can hardly even remember most things from and this one seems to have moved even more in the direction of what I did NOT like about the second one..

hmm.. what??

looks like a good start! I'm sure you'll get to the rockside stuff later but would be nice with some large rock meshes to break that hill like stuff up. Also, I'd probably ease up a bit on the sand stripes as much as possible to get rid of some of the striped feel of the whole beach.
Would also be cool to get some kind of gradient on the wood from bottom to top. Maybe the wood feels a bit more worn and water damaged at the lower levels or something?

That's looking pretty nice. But I think it's hard to see what's going on. Some of it may depend on lighting, it took me a while just looking at these shots to figure out the direction of the sunlight tbh.
Maybe you could try and get some more atmospheric depth and try and ease up on some of the more detailed areas to let the eyes rest a bit (even tho that's pretty damn hard with the Unreal art style I know, also that's more personal preference so

hmm.. guess I should pick this one up

Quote from Mazy
It's definitely inferior to Uncharted 2 in pretty much every way, but I still had a great time playing it. I completely agree that with this third game the lack of any redesign or polish on their core shooter mechanics have really started hurting them. It still has the same floaty feel that the first one had, but without the amazing reload animation (Reload anims in the first game, still best in the business, srsly guise). For me then it actually wasn't as much the shotgun dudes that bugged me, I got some mad respect for them fairly quickly, but rather the RPG and grenade launcher dudes that always resulted in hit deaths out of no where. One of the things I liked the most about UC2 was how agile and exciting you could make firefights by constantly moving around, and with UC3 it really felt like they put a dampner on that, making it much harder to be out of cover, at least on normal difficulty.Again, still think its a great game but sadly nowhere near UC2's awesomeness~
Pretty much agree with this.
It seems like once an enemy locks into close combat with you, usually when you're behind cover trying to avoid a grenade launcher guy, it's like he's magnetic and you can't exit the close combat in a good way, so instead you try to kill the close combat guy (which takes 2 hours if it's a shotgun dude) meanwhile getting killed by a grenade from the other guy because you're not in cover anymore. VERY frustrating.
Several times I thought I was safe in cover while I wasn't. It's just all these random one shot kills really piss you off

But overall I enjoyed it very much, not as much as UC2 but still a great game.

Nice Mino! Grats

Nice stuff! I love the presentation with the dynamic range slider and 3d previews.

Ah I've seen that Robot hunting room on PC, it's a really cool little environment.
The only thing I can think of is that I wish a few of the screenshots of props and stuff could be a little larger.
Otherwise, great stuff
