Awesome stuff! Love that you have a lot of mid sized vegetation in the last shots. Usually when you see game forests people tend to do some grass/tiny bushes and large trees. Solid work

Looks great! After only seeing the screenshots I also thought the blooming is way too much but it's actually pretty nice in the video, especially considering that you only have a turn on/off option for it.

Gotta have to agree on that. Well done on the assets!

Not very impressed yet. But then it's really hard to judge something from a few screenshots

I'm also waiting for a video.

You can just download end saves from the nets http://www.annakie.com/me/home.htmAlso what did I miss, because as far as levels are concerned you start over, so what do you get if you had lv 60 in the original.

Dunno, nothing I guess. I just want the achievement

59-60 is a HUGE jump, getting 60 by the end of a 2nd playthrough is going to be pretty difficult if not impossible. I'm probably going to go try an insanity playthrough at some point to wrap that up, still have 100k XP to go or so.

Yeah but I think it can be done... hope so at least :S But yeah gotta do every damn side mission there is anyway.

Yeah I played with a character I had already played through with once and I was on a pretty high level when I started. But the steps are really big around ~60 so I still have to work for it the second time

Judging from the screenshots I think the actual art content looks better than a lot of big retail titles art now.

    Looking forward to play still

North side of the Garda lake in Italy. I know Italy from the Alps to Sicily and this was the most beautiful place that i have seen. It's like a norwegian fjord but with awesome weather and all the other good sides of Italy:[Blocked Image: http://images.dpchallenge.com/images_challenge/0-999/980/800/Copyrighted_Image_Reuse_Prohibited_756046.jpg]

I was there last summer actually (I remember I was there at some point a long time ago as well) awesome place indeed, but the weather wasn't that great then sadly.

I like the atmosphere, but the layout of the buildings are a little to 90 degreed.

Agreed I think the light feels pretty nice and there's a good distribution of detail throughout the level.

Tho one of the biggest concerns when I look at it is that even tho it's raining it doesn't feel wet at all... Now I do know that this level probably use stock HL2 content so wouldn't be too easy to change unless you copy all materials (that cover larger areas and you actually notice) change the specular masks to be brighter, try and darken the diffuses generally slightly.

Since source is all cubemapped there's much you could do to achieve a wet look on materials. Like having small puddles and such going on in the mud/grass area. Anyway it's probably not worth the hazzle if you feel you wanna leave this project soon. But it's something to think about if you're gonna do a rainy level again. It really adds a lot to the whole scene if you can get the materials to feel wet then

Anyway the level looks tight overall

Yes some decals would really help that ground especially.

What I also find very strange is why there are 2 crossings in the road corner. It'd make sense if it actually was a T-crossing there. I understand the layout wouldn't really allow to open up that road (or maybe if it's closed off). Anyway as it is now I think it'd make a lot more sense to have the crossing in the middle of the straight part of the road.

Actually I think the whole road would benefit a lot from not beeing so strict to the grid. But I know it might be hard to do much about that so simply having some markings, dirt and other grunge going on there would help out loads.

I think some more material variation would be nice. Could the words 'hope' be written in either stainless steel or some other sort of cleaner metal (not cast iron since that will blend right in)? A reflected highlight across the stone or wood with a well painted mask would add a lot too. Maybe put some lights in the tunnel in the last image you posted to create some rim lighting on the benches and a few reflected highlights on the floor and walls?

I think alecmoody brings up a lot of good points here. The level looks nice but some areas are a bit hard to read. Stuff just blend a bit too much. Looking forward to see some more progress Looking at the first screenshots posted compared to the last ones it's looking way better now.
