This is like all my dreams coming true. Removing texture seams or quickly fixing up errors while speed painting has just got a lot easier. I just wish they actually take their time to improve performance, CS4 runs like shit on my machine

Really sweet stuff! Seems to work extremely well. Agree on the performance part tho Mino I need to restart PS a whole lot of times when working with it since it tend to continue to fill up memory and never release any :S

Holy shit, that's pretty damn sweet! Sure, it looked like you got some tiling in the road example, but that also seemed like a pretty extreme example, in most cases you would touch it up anyway and it seems like the artefacts you get with it are quite easy to work around.

That really gives incredible results. The pixel by pixel analysis of the image is really top notch here.

Only question I have is I'd like to know what sort of rig he runs this on, because I can see this taking a LOT of time on the average computer.

i honestly think the running time of the algorithms are within reason. it wouldn't seem in adobe's best interest to release something that will take ages on an 'average computer'.

Yeah, what's with that UI. It's like max2010, they make it look good (with it doesnt tbh) for exchange or practical use.

Erm, CS4 features also looked amazing on paper and videos and turned out shit in the end.

This lookes nice but i will praise it when it ships and actually works.

Ah and they actually released this video a week too early

Holy crap that's awesome... Is this out now? IT at my work is finally ordering me creative suite... I'm going to be pissed if I end up with cs4.

edit: on a related note I seem to remember some guy(s) who developed a plug-in for cs that looked performed remarkably similar to this... I wonder if they went on to work for adobe? I'll try to dig it up.

I was more impressed when it was presented in its original form:

(if I remember correctly the guys that wrote that now work at adobe). This just seems like an extrapolation of that original functionality, only this yields more texture repetition due to the nature of the operation (an area at a time, rather than a 1-pixel-width line at a time).

Thanks for the leg-work, that's the link I was looking for.
