I agree with RD, you can spend weeks with adding detail to your terrain, adding insanely many little bumps and waste your polies, but it won't necessarily look good.

You took quite some effort and your map doesn't look bad, but your rocks look a little odd and the river ending in the sky doesn't really help. I know you're still starting out with mapping so this is is a pretty good result for the beginning, just try using bigger and less triangles next time

    Ah ok thx

(btw. if you're going for engine names in the logos, then it should be "cryengine" instead of "crytek", but it's no big deal).

Looking awesome, thanks a lot ol!

Please make the missile look like it's ready to be launched (it should be seen from outside and not hide in the silo but also not float in the air)

Edit: ...and send it to me on IRC!

Yup, I also think it looks a little too grey and boring right now, at least compared to your previous maps. On the other hand it's still in an early stage, a more colourful lighting would definately improve the atmosphere a lot. Still looking pretty good, it reminds me of the map you were working on with Marcos, what ever happened to that one?

I don't know where that silo comes from, I googled it. Seeing that silo, I have to admit my model looks rather poor. Mazy, could you maybe model the "RoN" silo version with the missile looking out of it and insta will give it a shot at skinning?

Hey, I'm looking for someone to skin the missilesilo model for my FarCry map which is nearing completion. Here's a render:

    [Blocked Image: http://www.friechamp.net/stuff/missilesilo.jpg]

The skin for the missile is meant to look somewhat like this:

    [Blocked Image: http://www.neiu.edu/~ncaftori/gif/missile-defense-launch.jpg]

For the silo itself, it should be concrete or something similar.

    [Blocked Image: http://www.apolyton.net/ron/factsheets…ldings/silo.gif]

Black, yellow danger stripes on the silo's opening sliders might look good.

You can download the .max (and .dds file for 3dsmax5 users) here. Would be really cool if someone could help me out with this one!

We'll wait for the other entries first and then decide on the logo/design. A browser icon will follow after the decision.
