For those who've thought about buying Psychonauts (it's awesome) but haven't, it's available now for $19.95 on Steam. You'll most probably love it if you played any of Tim Schafer's older games such as Grim Fandango, Day of the Tentacle, and Full Throttle; he also did much of the dialogue/writing in the first two Monkey Island games. It definitely can't stand up to the amazingness of the likes of Grim Fandango, but it's a great game anyway with a good sense of humour.

There is a trailer on the menu. Pity they chose crappy screenshots though since the game actually looks really nice.

Not played it, but it looks like it plays extremely similarly to BF2 from what I've seen in videos. And that's a good thing in my opinion.

While I loved BF2, I've grown bored of the modern military theme and I think heading into the sci-fi realm is just what's needed to reinvigorate my interest. While I'm not as bothered about the mechs as most, just using futuristic equipment that isn't all delicate and fancy like you often see really appeals to me.

BTW, are there any laser tanks? Clearly that's what you want.

Haha. The GBA SP is a bit brighter so it's not that bad. I don't know if the normal GBA has a backlight at all.

Amazing how technology has moved on though. The GBA SP screen looks like an iron age relic when you whip out a DS Lite. The DS Lite can light up your damn room on the highest setting and still lasts about eight hours. D:

Unless the GameBoy Advance is different to the SP edition, it just recharges with a little cable thing like a mobile phone, same as the DS (Lite).

The only game I know is fairly good is Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge, plus all the Mario games that've been lovingly ported.

They were superb games and I don't think that many people thought otherwise. If they did then they are shit.

It's not something I think about regularly though.

Alan Wake is impressive and all, but I hope it turns into more of a game and less of a graphical showcase soon. Sure the effects were impressive, but let's not forget that Black & White 2 also had really good day/night effects, water, tornadoes, etc. They're not going to sell me on having prettier versions of that alone.

Yeah, it is a really good trailer. Not only does it introduce the chilling concept of the whole morality/killing little girls/etc thing, but it's incredibly atmospheric and is just generally ace in every way; I can't see many people watching that trailer and not wanting to immediately play the game.

The little scene at the end with the hand was also extremely eerie.
