Lots of games have been intended to be trilogies and never ended up being so after poor sales. Just because Crysis is quite well known amongst enthusiasts doesn't mean there'll definitely be sequels as planned. You'd be surprised how little of the mainstream is actually consciously aware of Crysis -- give it a test and ask some people. Nobody in their right mind is going to sink millions more into a project that didn't do too well the first time around, and that doesn't have that much mind share with the general public.

We've looked into it Sentura, and we cannot find any evidence of a trojan or virus. Mojo has even installed a completely new version of the forums, which uses nothing from before. I tried using Google to track down anything matching the names of the trojans that people have posted and, again, nothing relevant turned up.

I still think it's a case of something in the code being similar to a recently recognised virus/trojan, and various anti-virus software picking it up as a result. However we can't know either way until people receiving the error provide much detail such as what exactly their virus scanner thinks is suspicious (Cookie? Part of the source code? Image?).

Nobody with the capacity to fix it can reproduce the problem so it's vital anyone getting the notifications provides as much detail as possible.

Also while Mikezilla's buttons were OK, I think these new ones are better. I really do like this new phpBB 3 design in every way, and think all we need is a custom header and maybe some minor colour customisation (although we've always been blue anyway).

It's more down to their publishers when it comes to game funding. Even the biggest developers can't fund the millions necessary for a game in most cases.

I suspect the poor Crysis sales will push them towards marketing the engine. They seem to do engine technology better than anything else, and it'd be a good way to make some serious cash if they can own everything else out there even more than they have already.

Try going to some other phpBB 3 forums that have similar pages to the one where you get the virus warning.

It seems more likely it's a false positive as I don't see how a genuine virus could possibly be there.

Don't think I've heard of anyone else getting that. That only generally appears when you don't have Flash or Java or something installed doesn't it?

We definitely have no pop-up ads here so if you're getting any you must have spyware.

No. This upgrade was done out of necessity; our version was very old and could be hacked. It was so old that the custom theme could not possibly be re-used.

And I don't see how it can all look like one big post. Are you on an old CRT monitor or something that can't pick out all these lovely blues? There's quite a distinct difference to my eyes.

As for the overall style, I'm all for customising it a bit (although I think the core design is really nice). Not like that one you posted though HP, the background image and bevel border thing on that looks really iffy.

That Pixelation forum looks like ass and I would really hate MapCore to ever look anything like it. No offence to whoever designed it.

I really like the colour scheme we have now. It is easy on the eyes, the overall tone isn't that much different to how we had it before, and because it's mostly default it means we won't lose it or have problems every time Mojo needs to update phpBB (which will happen all the time thanks to hacking fucks). This new design also feels more professional which is good because MapCore is professional.

All we need is a nice custom header, and the name stuff on the left. Clearly anyone who reads from left to right is going to find it easier to read the name and see the avatar before the post for identification purposes. Even vBulletin weren't crazy enough to put the name on the opposite side when they decided to put names above posts.

This theme is superb the best design on the internet apart from the entirely non-standard info on the right. The phpBB guys must have gotten stoned towards the end of development.

I've worked out that the reason I find it so jarring with the names on the right is because I normally look at the avatar before the post, which is how I identify most people; without the avatars being on the left the first thing I automatically look at is the post so I have to go across to check out the avatar and then come back again.

This just the phpBB 3 default theme... Mojo didn't really get much choice in the matter of it looking like this. I guess he could have spent ages making a new one before reopening, but in the meantime you'd have no forums.

I'm really not sure about the names and stuff being on the right, though. I've already got them being on the left (most forums) and on the top (vBulletin 3). This is just getting out of control. If there's an option to have it on the left I'd suggest trying that for a few days and seeing how it goes.

Hmm, pretty weird. I guess Project Origin is what most people will consider the spiritual sequel, while F.E.A.R. 2 is more of a cash-in like Far Cry 2.

Doesn't mean it won't be decent, but in all honesty I have no anticipation for either as I didn't like F.E.A.R. much and thought it was incredibly bland.

Looks like a really fantastic game. The art is beautiful, the gameplay looks pretty intriguing, and the music is simply to die for.

It's a shame this didn't come out when games like this were more common as it would probably have been very much loved. I hope it comes out on Xbox Live or something so it can tap into a big audience.

Just as a note, wireless technology is really fine now, particularly with the brand new Wireless-N (802.11n) which has much better range and speed than before. There should be no problem spending a one-time fee for a pair of network cards to transfer the connection, or even get a router if you have many PCs (there're four in my household, hence the wireless router).

I always play music in Windows Media Player and use its fancy built-in browsing thing that uses the ID3 tags to split everything into artists/etc. I keep whole albums only (I am not an illegal pirating fuck) and if I don't like particular tracks I'll give them a star rating of 0 (you can filter them out).

'High-end' usually refers to the performance, not the price. There's absolutely no question that the 8800 GT is a high-end card, because it's now in the top few most powerful cards (the higher ones being the new 8800 GTS, the 8800 GTX, and the 8800 Ultra).

NVIDIA touts their *800 line of cards as the high end in general, so any card with that number is considered high end in any given series regardless of which letters are affixed to it. Mid-end would be the *600 cards (8600), and the low-end is something like the *200 or *300 (8300).

These cards will remain high-end cards until the GeForce 9s hit, at which point we'll have a new set of ends (the low-end 9300 or something, the mid-end 9600, and the high-end 9800). Well, unless they decide to change their scheme because of comparisons to ATI's older cards like the 9600 Pro.

Oh and yeah, we're actually in the day of USB thumb sticks which allow instant data copy/paste rather than insanely slow DVD-RWs.

It is kind of mind boggling how technology has completely passed you by.
