Ive been looking forward to this since last year's teaser:
It seems like the kind of game probably best enjoyed blind, so as much as I want to I'll resist watching the gameplay demo.External Content www.youtube.comContent embedded from external sources will not be displayed without your consent.Through the activation of external content, you agree that personal data may be transferred to third party platforms. You see, this is why people buy city building games — to do awesome stuff like that! SimCity 5 seems so feeble in comparison when looking at creative potential.
The annoying thing is that SC5 got a lot of the non-building stuff done in a really nice way, but it looks like Skylines has dutifully copied at least some of it, which is a good thing.

Looks excellent, I might have to get this. So it has actual gameplay unlike the other Cities series which seems to basically just be building?
I wish they'd figure out getting this genre on consoles and/or tablets though, it's the key to its future.

I don't really have problems sleeping, I'm just an idiot and keep going to bed late because I'm working on something. Almost every damn night I see it get to about 11pm and thnk better 'better wrap up and go to bed in a moment'. Then it's suddenly 2am and FFS.
Interestingly, being single seems to have made it a lot easier to fall into stupid sleeping patterns because who cares if I'm up until late making funny sounds with a synth. I wonder what the statistics would be if single/partnered peoples' sleeping habits were confirmed.

Always difficult coming up with stuff like this.

One thing I always find helps get the imagination flowing is thinking of well-known references that relate to the theme without being as obvious/boring as just using words like 'game'. It also makes the name feel more personal.
So with games, perhaps things like: Button Basher, First Person Blogger, Doomguy's Writing Desk, etc. Shit examples because I just got up and have a headache but its the kind of thing I mean. Just a little reference some people will get, and even if they don't it's easy to remember.

Every now and then I remember that I quite like Ayreon as a guilty pleasure, a prog metal/synth artist. Unashamedly cheesy sci-fi lyrics, but the musicianship is often very strong and features lots of unusual instrumentation/songwriting as you'd expect from prog. There's like 20 years worth of stuff with lots of different styles between albums, but here are some random bits:

Kind of. She knew I was working at the company, but it has four large buildings in the city. Maybe she figured I'd be in another one and our paths wouldn't cross.
It's not so bad, things didn't end super-awkwardly. But I was kind of enjoying just leaving that chapter of my life closed. Still, I guess that an awkward 'hi' is the worst that can happen.

Yep, same company. Oh well.

Was walking back into work after my lunch break, only to be greeted by the sight of my ex who after several years I broke up with just over a year ago (and haven't seen since) walking through the main entrance in the opposite direction. Bit weird, I thought.
Decided to put her name into the employee search once I got back to my desk — she recently started and is working in the other wing of the floor I'm on. Shit.

Perhaps the same reason that led to the project's demise: waning interest and passion from the designer, compounded by there being higher technical expectations and a need to delegate the work to others, making it much harder to keep refining/experimenting compared to HL1 and its rich scene of one-man-band single-player mods.
Just a guess, though!

My super-geeky Donkey Kong Country article just got spotlighted on Kotaku.
Naturally it is of the highest quality and should be enjoyed by you all. -
It is actually possible that I could extend things in that direction when I update our software in Q2, and have them appear in the sidebar. I know people can make threads about this stuff, but a slightly more formal format could make it nicer and more permanent. Food for thought.

Absolutely splendid.
