A final release date is upon us.
April 12th. They've also put out this Dead Island parody, even includes a bit of dub lol:
The mysterious third expansion pack 'End Game' is making me think 2143. Battlefield 2142 was, after all, the end game for humanity. ![]()
Not particularly excited about the close-quarter maps as the tighter maps are my least favourite in Battlefield 3, in fact I never really play on them anymore. Armored Kill sounds more up my alley though, and if the third does turn out to be 2143 I'll be most pleased.
Although
I do think this cause is legitimate and is most probably genuinely out to take down a very bad man who AFAIK continues to go around with his glorified gang killing innocents across Africa, which is great. I would like to see some well-funded vigilante mercenaries get on his ass. This, however, is hilarious:

Just checked Molyneux's LinkedIn and he's now listed himself as Creative Director at 22 Cans. Looks like we have the name of our new games company. ![]()
Looks like they're hiring too, albeit while giving no specifics. Who's in the UK and applying, then? ![]()
Yeah that'd be nice, although I assume the CGI is going to be a relatively close approximation of what they're shooting for gameplay-wise which is what I'm mostly excited about when it comes to this kind of game. ![]()
I think Microsoft ownership has definitely been a bad thing for the creativity of the studio. I really enjoyed the first two Fable games and this new one Frie just posted looks splendid, but I imagine Microsoft is pushing Lionhead to focus primarily on that franchise because it brings in the money — Molyneux is capable of so much more, as are his team.
I'm guessing Fable will remain Lionhead's Halo for some time, so in a way I'm delighted Molyneux is taking his riches will hopefully set up a new studio that gets back to creating truly original stuff.
Holy fuck! ![]()

Watching the gameplay videos reminded me how much this series owes to Tribes (no surprise considering it's the same producer), but man it looks great. There is just nothing like the scale of PlanetSide in any other FPS known to man.
One thing I have noticed is that Anonymous seems to be primarily comprised of a very small number of people who can actually hack — like, for real — and is otherwise mostly a mass of people who download script kiddie software and do what the actual hackers tell them to do with it.
I've seen the Pastebin pages and stuff where one of the real hackers explains what he wants all the followers to do, which software he wants them to use, etc, and then they blindly do it. It's this that typically takes sites offline because when you've got a huge mass of people willing to DDoS whatever you tell them to it gives you quite some power.
The more in-depth hacking like actually breaking into servers and stuff is most probably a much more connected and organised group of individuals though, akin to LulzSec but without the fancy moniker.
I don't have a great deal of respect for Anonymous as a whole because because they seem to have two main approaches:
Neither of these things are particularly sophisticated or likely to have any kind of long-term effect on anything, which is why the many skilled hackers out there don't bother with this shit because all it does is get headlines and attracts attention. Most hackers do this kind of thing quietly and get rich. I suspect the few instances where Anonymous has actually done something worthwhile like exposing SOPA information has been the work of just one or two really good hackers who used the Anonymous name to get it out there.

I was really hoping to see a Black & White 3 eventually. Lionhead could make it themselves, but I do think Molyneux's vision and desire to push the boundaries of what's possible — even if it means landing himself in hot shit by not living up to his dreams — was a key ingredient in the magic of that series and Fable (the first two at least). And I can never dislike a man for trying to make something amazing.
If the new Fable game is an example of what Lionhead will be producing without Molyneux's involvement then, well... ![]()
Apparently he will be pursuing independent projects, but as we've seen with Will Wright that can mean completely dropping off the face of the gaming world. If however he decides to roll with a new studio to avoid what I assume is pressure by Microsoft to keep working on Fable that's something I'm cool with.
I don't like it when visionaries feel trapped working on the same franchise year after year, because you always wonder what incredible new idea they could have come up with otherwise (looking at you UbiSoft).
LulzSec was pretty douchey. For example:
QuoteLulzSec hacked into the Bethesda Game Studios network and posted information taken from the network onto the Internet. On 14 June, LulzSec took down four websites by request of fans as part of their "Titanic Take-down Tuesday". These websites were Minecraft, League of Legends, The Escapist, and IT security company FinFisher. They also attacked the login servers of the massively multiplayer online game EVE Online, which also disabled the game's front-facing website, and the League of Legends login servers. On 15 June, LulzSec took down the main server of S2 Games' Heroes of Newerth as another phone request. They claimed, "Heroes of Newerth master login server is down. They need some treatment. Also, DotA is better."
No particular reason for doing it other than that they found it funny.
It's sometimes slightly admirable when Anonymous/LulzSec take lame things down like those trying to implement SOPA, but more often than not they just make life more difficult for innocent regular people (eg: when PayPal and Sony were attacked). They have no real aim other than to cause mayhem, and that's not a good thing IMO.
Oh, snap. ![]()
LulzSec Leader Betrays All of Anonymous
QuoteThe name Sabu should be familiar: as part of LulzSec, a potent offshoot of Anonymous, he masterminded legendary attacks against the CIA, FBI, Sony, and numerous other corporate and government targets.Sabu has been "collaborating with the government for months," leading to a string of arrests around the world today. It's unclear how many will be dragged down with Sabu's nine months of federal collaborating,
"He didn't go easy," a law enforcement official involved in flipping Sabu told FoxNews.com. "It was because of his kids. He didn't want to go away to prison and leave them. That's how we got him."
Those FBI don't fuck around.
I guess we'll be seeing Anonymous quietening down a bit from now on, then.
And we have a trailer. :derp:
I loved those games so much.
Someone get making classic Rare games in CryEngine.
I don't get it. ![]()
QuoteNever watched that show!
Here's an interesting direction that the next Fable game is taking. ![]()
Tim Schafer's doing a live Q&A for the next hour or so, get in there quick if you want to ask him something. ![]()
