not ultimately thrilled tbh. never had that ''RA feeling'' since C&C Red Alert so i'm curious more then excited..
Awesome. C&C 3 was the best game of 2007 so I see a bright future for the series. ![]()
i guess red alert gets exactly what we wanted: hot gung ho russian chicks in spandex...
wait, no...
Yaaay... ![]()
Epic win. ![]()
The idea of it is epic win, but the following screenshots not so much so. I don't know if these are legit, but they were on the HLFallout forums, in the RA3 topic anyway ![]()

What is it with EA and sticking weird Mechs into all of their C&C games?
The Red Alert universe should not have walking robots that shoot electricity... The only thing that should shoot electricity are Tesla Coils and the Tesla Troopers from RA2. On the topic of electricity-shooting towers of death, why the hell are they so small in RA3? They should strike fear into the hearts of enemies (via 500,000,000 volts of electrical energy) with their sheer size and stature!
I don't like how they're deviating from the look of RA/RA2...
This is RA.

As you can see, they share similarities. However, RA3 looks totally different, and I fear they may ruin it... I'm not sure how though, heh. I think it looks too visually cluttered.
To quote Han Solo, "I have a bad feeling about this."
I hope thats not real... generally cause it looks like a mod of C&C 3... and if they had to do that then yeah I'd like some things changed like the size of the tesla coils (there were tesla tanks I believe) and that electricity effect.
but if thats real they're missing the point on the style... the Soviet units and structures of the past were great because of the believability of those being in a Soviet style. If you look at the RA2 shots the Soviet buildings have that baroque-ish look to them like you think of when you think of Russia in general. In this new shot the buildings are hardly different from each other on each side... they need to do more to make each thing more distinct from each other.
I still can't wait for it though.. and I can't wait for naval battles... I miss them so.
I hope they have an awesome soundtrack for this one like the first two had (<3 hell march)
Instantly reminded me of red alert I dunno what you guys are moaning about ![]()
That looks like a C&C Generals mod to me. Why would RA3 look worse than C&C 3?
I heard there's a co-op campaign. Insta-buy for me if true.
It turns out they are official. Check out http://%7boption%7d for more info.
God damnit, they're adding a third side. C&C is all about having 2 sides, GDI/Nod or Allies/Soviets! Why do EA insist on adding a third side all the time? ![]()
There's no distinct look to it at all. Could easily be mistaken for Generals. C&C 3 had a distinct look with the environments and buildings all having a really unique quality to them. This doesn't give me a Red Alert vibe at all. Where's all the exaggerated unit/structure designs?
The only shot that looks right is this, but not sure if that's in game or not

I'm a little confused now.
that's obviously a concept pic.. I'm so not impressed by this game!
Well somewhere the whole style of the game was lost between concept art like that and the "final" product.
It's not too late though! They still have time to exaggerate things.
maybe if we complain to them enough...
you know, they lost the red alert feel before ever doing the sequel. i think the effect is borderline irreversible now :\
Oh I know. Let's make a petition for them to make red alert 3 on the old red alert 2 engine so none of the feel is lost !
It looks perfectly acceptable from these couple of early screens. Stop moaning.
Ugh.
Yeah but the developers aren't Blizzard. They're tied with EA so you may as well be pleased with what you can get. ![]()
I'm not saying it'll be bad... I do see where it's got the style goin on and I bet the game will play great!
I just kinda wish it'd be a fresh interpretation of the over-the-top feel of the buildings and units..
i hope they get awesomely funny voices for the units.
