    Hey, simple question:

Who is the number one in the games business to you today? This could be a games development studio, a publisher, a hardware manufacturer, whoever as long as it's a company and it is associated with games. It doesn't matter for what reason you think this specific company is king, as long as you mention it (because it makes tons of cash, or creates great games, or develops amazing technology, or...).

    Stoked to hear your answers!

    Definitely Valve.

I've not played a single Valve game that I haven't enjoyed, and in almost all cases I've enjoyed them a lot. I also really admire the way they've almost made frustrating game patching a thing of the past, as well as a centralised way of finding servers and following friends into them.

It might seem normal in today's world of Xbox Live and shit to have match making and stuff all sorted out, but I bitterly remember the days of not even knowing a patch was out until you tried to play online, having to install it like a program, having to download something like All-Seeing Eye to get a good server browser, having to use something like GameTiger to find your friends on servers, etc. Not fun at all.

I'm gonna be totally unimaginative and predictable and say Rockstar North, because they always manage to surpass what I'd expect to be the peak.

Yea Rockstar North. They make awesome games for decades now. Classics like Hired Guns, Walker or Lemmings on the Amiga (when the company was known as DMA Design) and later the whole GTA series, which offers one of the best singleplayer experiences.

    Team ICO

Sony better keep giving these guys money for as long as they make software. One of the few developers doing true innovation in my opinion.

All this years I've been a fan of Remedy work.

But since Crysis came out, Crytek gain my whole heart as they are the ones who developed the best graphical technology until present date. (I know technology Is not everything, but damn what they did is just fucking amazing)

Valve and Black Isle tied in first place for me. Fallout1/2 are just too good!

its hard to pick a true number one in games since its such a broad topic.

I'm a fan of remedy games (i bet alan wake is going to be ground-breaking ) because they always make great looking games with cool gameplay and story. i also like the hitman series for its style.

shadow of the collosus is probably my favorite console game so far (i never played a lot of console games) because of its visual style and type of gameplay.

as for developers i'd probably say rockstar for pulling off their public bad boy image and staying true to it.

i was expecting a bit more from valve to be honest. i enjoyed playing portal but ep2+tf2 didnt live up to my expectations (which were admittedly quite high)

Valve are definitely the best company by far for first person shooters, but I'm not quite as excitable about them as you guys. I’m going to make my #1 Capcom (assuming we can merge all their studios) - An obscene amount of stuff has their name on it, and I can only think of a few that weren’t remarkable.

    E: Excellent reading skills.
