I just recently built my other PC Heres the specs:

    A8V Deluxe Motherboard

    AMD 64 3,500+ CPU chip

    160gb hard-drive by Seagate

512mb stick by Corsair (I'm getting another stick soon)

    And 125watt power supply

I just installed Battlefield 1942, got the latest patch, I got on for about 10 minutes of smooth game play and then it froze.

I checked my CPU history it froze at the tempature of 51degrees, bad?

I tried it a few more times, still froze, highest clock out so far was 55, What could be wrong? D:

tried buying a decent cooling system? maybe water cooled or something and look in the bios for shutdown temperatures.

Thats what I think, my computer is somewhat powerful for gaming but the power supply is only 125watts :<

Whats a good decent power supply around 400watt?

lol.. whats water cooling?.. well if you have to ask.. then its not for you

and im guessing its probably has something to do with your extremely underpowered PSU

I wouldn't care about the brand, but for an Athlon 64bit I'd be safe and go for a 400W PSU at least. Should run fine then.

nah...heat really isnt that bad for most modern processors....only if you start fucking with the voltages

most chips made ~1 yr just shut down from heat

yea its most likely your PSU....and a 300-350w will do you just fine as long as you buy a quality brand that has failsafe overheating protection (ie an of the higher quality antecs, fortron etc)

DONT cheap out on a power supply....3 of the last 10 computers i fixed had dead powersupplies and all were generic $20 400 watt brands.

Now on the back I have a switch that says either 115 or 230, Right now its on 115..

    you silly goose

that means 115 and 230 VOLTS. basically if you live in europe 230 and in north america 115....but that shouldnt have any effect on anything (because if it was 230 your computer just wouldnt start)

Then...how come I am overclocking if that says its 350 watts? ;/

    * i dont think you're clear on what overclocking is (usually). overclocking is when someone wants to make their computer faster so they set the front side bus higher or change the voltage core in order to force the processor to work faster then the stock speed it was sold at. you keep using "overclocked" like it was a symptom of the problem you're having.

    (continued from my last post)

while that PSU isnt great, it should def maintain what you have there

now it sounds like you're having a heat problem.....what i would recommend doing is going into your BIOS and setting the fsb to whatever setting is right below the current. i dont know if your bios fsb is controlled by each individual mhz or like most 66-133-266-333 etc etc

set it lower and see if it still crashes. if it doesnt crash anymore then get that bitch RMA'd asap (assuming you have the stock cooler with the 3500+, the stock heatsink SHOULD be able to maintain the processor....so dont go out and buy a new heatsink....because its not your fault, its a defect)

(fsb for your processor should be like 400mhz or something....look it up if unsure)

another good way to troubleshoot hardware problems is to just turn everything to the lowest possible settings and see if it still crashes, then slowly turn everything back on (hence finding the problem). btw when your computer crashes...is it only in game or does it happen when you're just sitting looking at the desktop?
