Some FarCry 2 Vids

I think they've done a very good job, although the videos do make it look a bit better than it actually is. When you see the high-resolution stuff the cracks start to show and a distinctive essence of last generation shines through. There're a lot of special effects (Post processing?) that do a good job of masking this, though.

Can't fault them on the theme though, which has some really nice-looking areas; they made a good decision by going in the direction of Africa or whatever rather than trying to compete with doing the same thing as Crysis (especially seeing as Crysis is armed with the better engine). The gameplay could be great too. Have to wait and see.

That's some really nice and original stuff there, I wasn't expecting that, I'm fairly impressed!

Like the destructible ammo depots, the flying gas tanks, etc.

Btw, love the flamethrower, and how the fire propagates though the map!

only thing that disappointed me was the fact that the clouds never moved... even when the day cycle ran through the clouds stayed and the sun moved.

yeah there was the storm thing but they formed storm clouds in a disappointed way and just broke apart back to normal.

I'm probably the only one bothered by it and it's not really that big but still... moving clouds!

I'd agree. The only disappointing part was the clouds. It's not like they were bad or anything, they just didn't move much. But the storm effects were great. The fire was great. Everything was great imo... except the clouds.

Crysis > Farcry 2

I just hope, unlike Crysis, they actually come through with all this stuff. Right now I see it not looking as visually nice once they realize there budgets are to high or something.
