We are proud to release our next beta. This one fixes most of the annoying bugs, adds objective indicators, full player customization, a new map, new weapons and many other stuff.

The official changelog can be found here.

    Enjoy

    Congrats.

But please tell me, why on earth there's only FilePlanet mirror?

I'm guessing it's almost certainly a temporary exclusivity agreement (ie: exclusive until mirrored everywhere else, and the only mirror officially distributed by the devs). The INS team get front-page promotion from FilePlanet in return.

yeah altough I am not really convinced the extra publicity is better then having a whole load of mirrors, maybe to hit a US public, but my general impression is that people don't really like the Planet network that much

if only valve were more generous to the community... Would also be a lot easier to release fixes and stuff.

Do you? Because to say you prefer CoD 4 you'd have to have actually played Insurgency (beta 2). And to just say you prefer CoD 4 without providing any kind of reason why is fairly lame -- how are the developers meant to improve?

If you haven't, then please don't make such posts in future. They help nobody, and clash with section two of the MapCore rules.

Why am I still on the dev team? I mean I haven't done anything since pre-pre-pre-release

good job, hopefully the game community will enjoy it a bit more, and the military freaks will leave the mod alone!

cod4 is a professional product, it's only downfall is a lack of coop

    if INS had coop ...

I dont like cod4's weapon system.

Guns just dont feel like they have any kick in cod4. although i love their sniping system.

COD4 graphically i think looks better due to the amount of art direction they had etc :] but i still think insurgency's weapon models look better.

    I agree with you.

Call of Duty was much more of an arcade experience... I didn't much enjoy it.

There is never a change in pace of the action either, it is always pure chaos, and it gets old after awhile.

Maybe it's just not my type of game.

To be honest, Insurgency has probably done the best job of realisticly representing firearms. The only other games I can think of are maybe Operation Flashpoint and Americas Army, but Insurgency comes far closer.

For the most part, my only problem with the first release was the fact that half the people playing it never knew what the hell were they doing thanks to the lack of an objective map.

Now that this has been fixed i'm pretty excited about giving it another go.

I'm really really disappointed they stuck with that slot class system, it really was a game ruining thing for me, because I tend to join almost full servers with ~24 max limit, play for 30 mins then quit (I have limited patience for games!) but with INS this means I drop into those worthless engineer/sapper, rpg or sniper slots. hfdskfhsd. That said, I'll give it a try.
