So from what I've heard the console versions will be released next week (whereas the PC version has been delayed to early 2008).

In anticipation to the release, Ubisoft put out a launch trailer, which is beautifully made in my eyes. No unnecessarily quick cuts, no commentator voice throwing buzz words at me, no explosions or enemies being shredded into bits.

Just scenery, the character and music.

Watch. Learn. Post any Assassin's Ceed related information here.

I'm still not quite sure what exactly to expect from Assassin's Creed. I mean I REALLY want it, but it still seems somewhat hazy as to what kinda game it really is.

    But yeah, next Friday ~

I'm really looking forward to it, its one of my top 3 most wanted games at the moment alongside Mass Effect and Kane and Lynch. Sadly I'm not sure I can afford to get all 3 this month, so I think one of them's gonna get shunted into December. I don't think this will be the one that does, however!

I really enjoyed the trailer, but then I've loved all the trailers for this game so far so thats no real surprise.

I guess that PC port will be out right when I'll be able to purchase it at a discounted price. Count me in

I read that jumping was automated. This really started to turn me off. I don't like to rush to conclusions about stuff I haven't played, but come on. What good can come of that?

    (Don't cite Zelda )

Ya definitely, I know what your saying. Expect beautifully crafted highly detailed and richly alive WORLD. Personnally my favorite aspect of any game is if the world is believable immersive and alive, no matter what world it is.

As for the gameplay, the videos from a many moons ago made it seem like Prince of Persia on steriods, nothing really special and unique, but of good quality.

I watched one of the trailers recently and while there is a lot of depth in certain places; some of the gameplay looks awful. It's like a bad martial arts film where you are surrounded by 10 guys but they attack you one at a time.

And the combat looks a little ugly at times as well, only saw the kind mission but they sounded so proud of it I'm sure it'll be a rinse & repeat of the gameplay. Go in silently throwing ninja stars over distances of 100 metres then kill one guy then fight 20 guys then run away.

    Great :S

Personally, I don't even have a computer/console capable of running this game, so I don't know that I'm going to worry about it at all. I'll just enjoy the pretty pictures.

why is a hairy butt your avatar? Just wondering.

I've completly ignored this game so have no idea what its about but from the screenshots it looks like a prince of persia game set in Robin Hood times with phong and bump mapping.

I hope it's really good, I want another medieval/fantasy stealth game. All these people leaping around in spandex, using weird technology and wearing stupid bright green lights as part of their attire isn’t really my thing.

But I’m glad to see I’m not the only one who knows nothing about this game despite watching the presentations and trailers. Half the material released is people climbing walls and leaping to their deaths to ambient music, and the actual gameplay footage was poor. They seem more preoccupied splicing in the futuristic frames to hint at the plot - that we’ve all worked out for ourselves already (or been told it straight by a voice actor).

The gameplay footage was: The player climbs up the walls of a building, uses ‘intuition’ to see their target, then takes up an elaborate plan to disguise himself as a priest to get close with some woman talking about how great this all is. And it’s all very cool... But then he kills him and 50,000 guards jump out of nowhere that prove to be no problem as the player makes his escape. So I’m not exactly sure why you can’t rush in and stab five shades of shit out of him anyway, unless there’s some horrible brute force mechanic to stop it.

I read in an article from some ex-employee the control system is quite poor though, apparently the 4 face buttons represent parts of your body and the shoulder buttons determine the ‘context.’ Sounds weird, but he may have just been disgruntled, don’t think I’ll know until I try it.

tl;dr: Hope it's good, released media is too obscure
