    this blew my mind.

    I put it on devbump

    *edit*

there are some crazy game mash-ups potential using this thing . . . I have already seen someone mention putting Ironforge or Stormwind from WoW into SecondLife or something similar . . . what kinds of crazy stuff could you do? Are we gonna start seeing some crazily other-game-themed HL2 maps?

someone already ripped something out of crysis:

    http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread. ... ost4749433

someone else privately showed me a demo using unity of a guy running around a super mario sunshine level ripped from a gamecube emulator.

Using vista I haven't been able to get it to work so far, the game keeps crashing when I try to launch it through the tool.

Does this thing work with console games too? That's be great to see the gamecube RE's mansion in full 3D.

I think so. I read (somewhere? In that link Buddy gave I think...) that someone ran through Delfino Plaza from Super Mario Sunshine through an emulator.

Not the gamecube version as far as I'm aware. I remember a video that took you on a "tour" of the mansion in first person and it was all 3D. Only the first three games used pre-rendered shots if I remember right.

The Resident Evil remake and Resident Evil Zero were both pre-rendered, IIRC. The devs could easily have made a fly through of course, but all the cameras were static. They were animated backgrounds though, which made it seem a lot less obvious. Lightning flashes, rain effects, curtains flapping around, the shake of the train carriages, etc...

crazy.. is there any info on the web about how they did it, or just an article/interview with the devs?
