0_o *looks up at every one on about textures* you ppl are dumb he said he's working on them! its WIP after all
*does wonder sometimes - adds ppl to urbans list*
Quote from Pericolos0looks real cool. The lack of smoothing will ruin the roundness tho
if the textures are perfectly aligned they will look smoother. Use this trick to align them rockdude: http://www.snarkpit.com/editing.php?pag ... ials&id=95
i already knew about this technique but never really used it so tnx man
Ooooh, curves!
Quote from rockdude86...in reply to belgarion "patch meshes" means working with individual faces right?...
mmm no.. better! You select the mesh as if it were a box, and size it as if it were a box, and Gtk will automatically proportionate all the faces of the mesh.. not to mention it perfectly aligns textures, which makes it positively perfect for pipes (or anythig you want curved for that matter). Example - That started out as a single long tube. Took maybe 25 seconds to get it where i liked it... look at its curved goodness!
sweet! me drool ![]()
i will have a look at tis when i get home from school.
i hope gtk radiant isnt to hard to learn though i have never worked with it before but dont think that will be much of a problem. now i think about it doom3 uses gtk radiant 2 so maybe ill release it for doom3 ![]()

Just to clarify, the Doom3 editor and GTK Radiant are not quite the same. GTK is a series of community-based upgrades and additions to id's standard Radiant editor. The basic functions are all the same, but GTK adds/changes enough that it can be a little frustrating for someone going from one to the other at first. I'd personally recommend sticking with the standard D3 editor for now; I've heard a few people complaining the D3 support in GTK 1.5 isn't quite up to par with the Quake 3 versions yet (but it'll defintely get better with more time).
You definitely would love patch meshes judging by what you've got going in the screenshots here. You can do almost anything with them. Texturing isn't always perfect on the more complex stuff, but it's sure a hell of a lot easier than trying to apply textures on oddly aligned/shaped faces than in HL. ![]()
me is noob
sorry.
will make this change very fast
Bah, don't apologize! Just didn't want you to freak out if you tried one, then found the other was different. ![]()
sory  ![]()
the idea behind this map:
its a secret underground military rocketbase positioned in some jungle somewhere in the future (jungle part not made yet) but it has been abandoned and the jungle top part is one big ruin. the underground part is still in a relative good condition but has been a place for graffiti artists and drug (ab)users.
just a thing about the texturing for this level me and bluepunk are working on them right now and its going to be concrete/metal and a lot of high tech stuff and some jungle thingies for the top part
when we finish some textures we will post them here for your comments so we can make this the best we can
i will update the first post 2!
blah i cant wait till its finished and after we textured it ![]()
