Ive started experiencing these annoying things where Burnout 3 (xbox) crash the game and say that it cant read the disc. Its been happening almost every time I pause the game for a while and get back to it.

Ive checked the disc, its fine, so Im just wondering, anybody else got this problem? Or is it just the drive in my xbox that is fucky and in that case, how should I clean it?

You can try getting a disc repair kit, in which case I have never tried before, so I can't tell you how good it is. If not, grab some Windex (or some sort of glass cleaner) and spray it on the disc, then clean it off with some tissues.

Actually now that I think about it then it must be the Xbox, because Ive had this kind of shit before, only then I thought it was something with that specific game.

    Hmmmm

You should try a DVD cleaner disc. My PS2 had very annoying reading problems and most of them were solved with one of those.

Yeah, sounds like you need to clean that baby. And clean your room while you're at it

I'm completly serious this is how we do it in Graphic Designs class.

Get some toothpaste, preffered a clearer type, I use Crest, you put a tad onto the disk, get a washcloth (NOT A TISSUE) and lightly smear the toothpaste around the CD, let it set for a minute then wipe/clean off disk with another cloth.

anyway, i just remembered that we have one of those cleaner discs, so i popped in the bux, gave it a few spins, and now it works fine. Guess i just need to clean it once in a while :G

btw ive heard about that curman, but i thought it was soap or something

Yup, toothpaste actually works. We fixed a Windows CD with that some time ago.
