Judging by the screenshots, there seems to shadows for hardly anything except for main geometry.

to be honest, its not fair to compare ins to cod.. The setting ins is in really looks good with bloom. (Assassins creed has done this excellently too). For beeing a gritty game, it looks super awesome.

Looks like the spec and model shadows have been turned off on your comp Mr.h20.

Thats why I tend to like the 360 more, you have base specs that let you present the game looking the same on every 360.

I am also not a huge fan of Bog A (maybe I have played it too much, lol). I think the rest of the game is actual much better imo. Good to hear all the input.

It was pretty cool. I love how you reload.

The backgrounds are god awful in the demo, they looked like the crappy q4 ones.

Hahaha, I still remember the first time I played Quake 4 and almost laughed out loud at the blatantly painted backgrounds. I mean it's all well and good having painted backgrounds, but not when stuff that's meant to move like smoke and stuff is in them.

It might be the particles that INS is lacking mostly

    we had awesome particles!

... but I had to tone them down quite a bit because we needed a quick FPS fix for 1.1.

Yeah I thought that was lame too, like we walked into a time warp or something, it's lazy since it's obvious that Doom 3 can support 3D skyboxes since the smoke and planes that fly over are part of the sky animation.

Wow a IW worker /me bows. Thats exactly what I meant it seems like something is turned off but I have all settings on max, Is it something in the demo that is turned off since some settings didn't have high detail just low or medium.

Yeah, I installed the demo a couple of days ago and had exactly the same shadow problem. Everything I could find in the various settings menus was set to 'on' or 'maximum', but no shadows were appearing properly.

It shouldn't be my hardware because I'm using the absolute latest drivers and a GeForce 8800 (GTX). Maybe it's a demo restriction, or a demo fuck-up?
