Well, to their defence - there isn't a "game develpopment 101" book or a manual on "how to make a good game".

But on the flip-side, common sense is something most people have. I mean, I've no real experience beyond college with making a feature film, but I sure as hell realise you're not going to make one by relying on charity work and the open source model (hell knows how they managed to compare that to game production).

Perhaps a good mod, but a good game? Piss off.

Wasn't there a mod trying to do this same thing?

Isn't it also one of the many announced-before-HL2-came-out-but-still-doesn't-exist mods?
