Remake HL textures

    I'm trying to get a job @ Nightwatch as a Texture Artist

    aside of Insurgency (http://www.insurgencymod.net) were I am LD & 2D artist.

    So basicly I'm remaking some old HL textures.

    First I make them 512 px and I change them to 256 px once they are finished.

    wow.. remake all of the "used" textures, and I'll prolly make an hldm map with the "standar" textures :-o

    That orange color is a little to strong I think..

    um you're not using powers of two which reak havoc on video cards

    crai. could have at least worked in powers of 2! (edit: mikey beat me on that one )

    I think you used the sharpen filter too much as they all seem too grainy to me. Your bevels/edges are too clean and straight.

    I think he just "copied" the sizes from the originals (they're not powers of 2 either), as that's easier to work. They're not meant to be used in a map anyway (correct me if I'm wrong), so it doesn't really matter.

    Other than that, looking good! I agree the organe is a tad too strong.

    About the power of 2 thingie... I just took the sizes of the default textures and resized the largest side to 512 :/ Thanks for the comments

    Delaz if you could post a few various HL base textures for us to start with that'd be brilliant - as some of us haven't had it installed for years now.

    Those look pretty good. I think the teal lab-wall textures are probably too concrete / dirty though to be used in a hi-tech laboratory, especially considering how it is used at the beginning of Half-Life.

    I wonder how many projects there are going to be to remake hl 1 with uber detail and gfx. Anyway, it would be a fun as hell project.

    I resize them afterwards, those 512 are just for practise.
