Post funny things your parents have said to you about games

    "Get off the computers, it's not healthy"

    "I told you to get off the games"

    "I don't like you on those games all the time"

    "It's time to get off the games"

    "I don't like all that shoot em up stuff"

    "I told them you were making a "vampires from hell" game

    "don't show your game to grandma"

    "so these are all other people?"

    me: yea

    "on the computer?"

    me: yes

    "they are in the internet?"

    me: well, they are ON the internet

    here is an email my mom just sent me:

    "Don't forget to watch the new show "Father of the Pride" tomorrow night. I'm sure you've seen the previews at the movies on "the twenty". It looks so funny. It's from the makers of "Shrek" and uses CGI animation (l really don't know what that is)"

    my parents brag about me to other parents. my mom is trying to get me to give her friends kid lessons in game design :x

    if u dont stop playing games I'll sell this fucking computer

    I would also stay up late and play games / surf pron in my room at night, and I had a long ethernet cord going to my room, and before my parents went to bed every night they would unplug it from the router like I wouldn't notice what was wrong. I would always go plug it back in every night. This went on for like 2 years.

    "IF YOU DON'T LET ME WIN THIS FUCKING GAME OF BOMBERMAN, I'LL GET THE BELT OUT AGAIN!" - My Dad, typically drunk and aggresive.

    Only joking. My parents weren't/aren't too bothered about my gaming habits, althought they've definitely said stuff similar to what you guys have experienced.

    "why the hell are there jacks in the bedrooms now!?!?!?!?!" - parents

    "oh while you and dad were in england we crawled into the attic and networked the whole house and put phone cords in every room along with the network. The hard part was dad's officer where we punched through the laundry room wall, but you'll never notice" - my brothers and I

    "Are you sitting in front of "the box" again?" - mother

    "The computer will kill your eyes" - grandmother

    "If your grades go down I will take an axe and destroy your computer" - father

    and thousand other things they throw at my head every day. I can't say my parents are very supportive in this prospect.

    When I was a little tiny baby (a few years ago), me and a friend used to play alot of SNES. We used to rent this sidescrolling fighting game, which you walked through different levels and kicked some ass.

    When we played this game at my friends house, his dad would look at it and say :

    "What the fuck, this game is violent and stupid!! Return it to the store at once!!!"

    If we played it at my house, my dad would look at it and say :

    "What the fuck, his foot-movement isnt synced up with his actual movement speed, that's pretty silly".

    good thing my parents never really complained about the games, it was rather a matter of me not getting out enough D;

    although they have found some of the games Ive played kind of sick from time to time (didnt think it was funny when i shot a shaking guard in MGS2 in tha head!! f00z1!!)

    I can't remember any specific things that my parents sayed. Exept that my dad used curse alot and smashed my monitor, mouse and keyboard with hes fists if the computer didn't work like he wanted.

    Also once my mom made me delete all porn

    "Hmph, this guy is a professor, he knows what he's talking about. And they wouldn't show it on the news if it wasn't true"

    "Wjat?"

    during the playtesting for dod, it would go really late into the night (like 1-2am) which isnt that bad now, but i was in like 10th grade then so my parents would get mad and after awhile they thought i was a nazi because it was a ww2 game.....

    Mom: "You want to work in video games?!"

    Mom: "When are you going to get this video game thing off your brain?"

    Dad: "It's your life. Do what you want."

    Mom: "Look! I clipped these articles about video game industry from the newspaper!....Did they promote you yet?"

    Mom: "When are they going to promote you?"

    Mom: "Do they have stock? Will they give you stock options?"
