One of most successfull game series ever... I can't see any graphical glitches that previous series had ( i mean small bugs and so on, this one seems perfect to me ), it's really improving with each release.

edit: and the new animation system seems to work perfectly.

    That's so hot.

I'd buy X360 just for that game.

This is an example of how Rockstar "gets" marketing. They aren't using marketing bullets and feature lists or logical reasoning to get people excited about the game. They just make product their fans will like and show it off as simply as possible. It's an experience, not technical specs of graphics or number of weapons or hours of gameplay. In short they are showing instead of telling. Most marketers still don't get that.

I'm not saying this is the best piece of game marketing ever, but the focus of the website on just the trailer and screenshots is refreshing.

Looks good, but I hope the gameplay has been given some love. I was massively bored long before I finished San Andreas, realising a lot of the gameplay in the three GTA3 games is the same shit.

The coolest part was the 1 second shot of the hero shooting his ak47 (or look alike weapon, not sure) a la Heat street firefight sequence. I just hope there's a similar mission

gta could greatly benefit from you interacting with other characters in the open world. in gta:vc i can only think or 2 or 3 missions that you did with other people and they didnt do anything. the dialog was always limited to you walking into a building and standing on a circle.

edit: oh and yeah it looks tits

Also @ bicball - I agree totally, they went all out tech spec and gimmicks in SA, and the gameplay I really didn't like. It was fun at first, when you were a low-key gangbanger but the whole "rule the city" shit gets so old.

I want to finish this game and have my character not made a single dent in the runnings of the city, I don't want him some head honcho running shit whilst wandering the streets blowing shit up. I'd be happier to see him get killed off in a shootout with the police and/or rival gangs.

    Much more satisfying.

Wow, that was just an all round badass trailer. Very little to fault there. I don't really give a shit about GTA but that trailer's gotten me a little excited for this one

I give you that this would be a change from the usual but how can your character getting shot be more satisfying?

    It's Rick_D.

edit: The only thing that is bothering me are hero's hands, they seem a bit weird.

That wasn't the point of my whole post. I don't want another GTA game where you start out as nobody and yet you end up the criminal overlord.

I would rather come into this world as nobody, and leave it just as suddenly having made no impact on how things run. The getting your character killed part is just an example of how that could be done, bring it home that you are unimportant and you've just spent X amount of time playing through the game, enjoying it like hell but at the end of the day you haven't changed the city.

But I doubt they'd kill the character off because of the whole "play forever once the game is over" thing.

Bottom line: I just want it to be more underground and a little bit more realistic/grown up about the way events unfold.

Oh and buddy: go become an hero.
