Allthough BF2 was graphical the same for me as what this game does: Look at an EA Screenshot and feel fucked up with the product you are playing - BF2 is mostly as flat as QuakeWars seems to be. For me BF1942 is the reference - It is flat but noone denyed it at least

My guess at the owners of those cars :

    BMW Z4 : Boss

    Lotus Elise : Producer

Black sports car to the left : Boss and producers weekend ride

Minivan : shared by modelers, graphical artists, level designers, sound engineers, programmers, QA, office cleaner, tech guy, concept artists etc.

    The MR2 isn't that good

The Lotus is not really an everyday car, unless you bought into our Norfolk spin and bought all the option extras (carpets, cd player, sun visors...).

    So that leaves the Z4

Found a guy who'd posted truck loads with screenshots from the ETQW beta at the IGN forums. (Err... well I think it was the IGN forums...) ^__^

    http://origin-of-onefire.co.uk/Amandeep/ETQW/

    http://origin-of-onefire.co.uk/Amandeep ... troggTech/

Just thought I'ld add them here if there's still someone left out there who's hungry for in-game screenshots. Prr!

The megabump command to improve image quality was never mentioned by splash damage, it was only found a few days ago by people annoyed by the shit quality.

Each of those screens is ~1 meg each -- it'd be a good idea to make thumbs and post them, or just post links. The terrain is OK but the rest of it looks pretty bland. Surely you have to agree that the promo shots were significantly more attractive than the actual gameplay shots? The promo shots had the wow factor and generated a lot of buzz and "omgs". Maybe they can improve it before the launch, but I'm still utterly unmoved by the visuals.

Yeah, same. The best style I can compare how the game looks to is (again) UT2004's Onslaught maps, which similarly were very adequate but weren't very compelling on the eyes.

There are a few games out on the market today which have built-in functions, checking your computer specifications and adjusting / deactivating / activating / "locking" some settings depending on how powerful computer you've got. (Which you all probably know already ) Perhaps it's the same with ETQW... or the developers just tweaked the .cfg as for the beta or something as I (think) mentioned earlier.

Sorry JeanPaul, but were those gigantic screenshots meant to convince us the game looks sexy? I'm afraid it still doesn't look any better than BF2 Still, I haven't played it yet, so here's hoping it plays a little different/better.

Unfortunately they seem to be out of beta keys, so we'll probably have to wait for the demo to be release. n__n But I suppose the demo and full version'll be available for both mac and linux... or atleast I believe it'll be released for those two things...

For fuck's sake Jean if you post another screenshot that big I swear I'm going to find that thing that lets you stab people in the face over the Internet and put it to good use! 1024x768 is perfectly sufficient for a screenshot.

It still looks crap anyway, compared to the hype screenshots. It reminds me of Quake 3 a lot with all the blockiness.

I think it looks much better than BF2 myself. It's just a retina-melting bloom away from next-gen. If anything screenshots that big detract from it as you can see all the edges and your whole monitor is taken up by a grass texture even at a respectable resolution.

Won't comment on the gameplay as it's not for me, personally don't enjoy FPS that much these days, and never really enjoyed ones where you have to run around like a blue-arsed fly recapturing stuff to win.
