Guinness is my regular everyday beer. But I usually have an array of other beers at my disposal, usually some of Magic Hat's offerings, maybe some Brooklyn beers, Newcastle. One of my all-time favorites is Samual Smith Winter Welcome(although all sam smiths are awesome) and Belhaven is another favorite. A bar near me used to have Belhaven on tap, that was just awesome, but no longer

    Yuengling

And yes it is a fine brew. However I doubt many people here have ever heard of it, as it is pretty local to eastern US.

I'm sure joney has tried it though

Where's the beer on that list?

I prefer Grohe Helles Handbrewed or Darmstädter (Helles Export or Braustübl). But that's both local Breweries (you may know Darmstädter but Grohe is that small no one north of frankfurt knows it ^^)

The best Weizen I drank so far was the Prinz Luitpold Weißes from Bavaria (I drank it in Günzburg)

The best bottled Pils you can get all over germany is Kulmbacher Mönchshof in the Blob-Bottles

What every beer drinker should consider is a trip to the cloisters of south-hesse and bavaria, e.g. Groß-Heubach - 666 Steps to climb and then get a monk-hand-brewed Schwarzbeer with Beerbread and Ham - best thing in the world.

    Fosters, Guiness, Newcastle?

Not my style...Heineken and Carlsberg are alright, I don't know the others.

But the fact that no German brand is up there is quite week indeed guys!

On the other hand, every frickin stain on the map with a bus stop and a church, also has a brewery here, so local influences definitely play a role when you talk about beers.

e-freak: My friend's dad always has a crate of Prinz Luitpold at home, but I don't like it that much. I drink it, just like Paulaner, but these beers are too sweet for me to drink it in large amounts. Erdinger is a different story..I know - "tv beer boooh" - but it is my favourite one probably.

As far as Pils goes - "Herforder Pils" (local brand from my hometown, quite bitter, but not as bad as Jever) and you could get some really good beer in Coburg. I think it was called "Franken Bräu", the bavarians know how to brew beer, you gotta give them that
