    Mh i readed the article this time. And well, i think we are far far away from cyborgs, at least to make a complete artificial body to put a brain in.

    But i don't understand the title, they've managed to make neurones from culture to work with hardware, well ok. But it's just neurones from culture, so not a living being in all it's complexity. So it's not really a cyborg.

    Making neurones from culture working with hardware will be useless if they don't find a way to extract somebody's brain and spinal cord without killing him. Also : find volunteers

    Cyborgs doing the dirty work all sounds well and good but a lot of people in the world rely on getting paid to do that dirty work to put food on the table. My father is a gas-fitter/welder and I know I wouldn't have wanted him to get sacked because some Cyborg can do his job. All those jobs that most people don't want to do provide income for a lot of families. We don't need Cyborgs creating even more of a class/poverty divide than there already is. Now...cyborgs you can purchase for own home to do your ironing and tidying up wouldn't be too bad, that I would like!

    There's people doing those sort of things for a living as well, ask Hipshot.

    The question is: Does a cyborg have feelings or a soul (or whatever you want to call it)? Why degrade him to do the dirtywork just because he has a f*ckin chip in his head and an iron-hand? He did not decide to have this hand or the chip connected to his human-brain.

    True. I suppose I was contradicting myself there. If you had a cyborg to tidy your house why not have one to fix the plumbing, or one to mend your car? Starting with house cleaning would escalate to lots of jobs being lost in other areas where humans do jobs 'for each other' (i.e. joiners fixing house interiors). I've changed my mind then, there should be no cyborgs to do any jobs that humans can do, including house cleaning. So to keep as many jobs for people as possible and not encourage poverty, which cyborgs would do.

    i hope they implement a matrix like system wher eyou can like put in a media and wham bam you know all science in the world for instance.

    Problem is, any job that requires human-like intelligence, which is pretty much anything other than sitting in a tree eating fruit, would obviously require a processor as powerful as the human brain, and the AI programming would be absurd. The only way to do it would be to grow a human brain and use this neuron connection technology to put it in a robot suit(a la Robocop). But then you just have a human in a fancy suit! This cyborg/andriod/robot/etc is not going to want to do all the dirty work for free.

    Basically my point is, I don't think it is possible to create a being with as powerful a brain as a human's that is not aware of its own existance.

    However, this could mean better bionic body parts, the ability to replace ears and eyes in the deaf and blind, maybe even healing paralysis.

    The same question applied when machines took over for people in industries... The robots can do so much for us, but they will still need someone to superwise them and repair them when something goes wrong

    And some jobs, especially the ones that require human interaction, will always need humans to do the job.. If you go to a restaurant where every waitor is a robot, you wont be welcomed with a smile, or perhaps a small conversation when they bring you the food etc... My point is, Humans are dirty animals and we need someone to clean up after us

    I hope the jew cyborgs take over the world just like in the Terminator movies so we would have something to fight against. Our life is so boring ;(
