Mapcore Book Club

    In shadow of Zaphod's recent request that we townsfolk 'clean up' our act, I think starting a Book Club in these forums is a grand idea.

    The paperback I am reading will be familiar to many of you, 'To Kill a mocking-bird' by Harper Lee. I am enjoying my reading time with it, especially the description of the behavior of the children. I get quite a kick out of the attention to detail Harper Lee puts in, even noting their fidgeting while their father teaches them valuable lessons.

    The style of humor is unlike any other authors, it’s astonishingly funny considering how close to home it is.

    And Mino’ dear, as much as I do like reading informative books, and I do, they are just in such an abundance that I have no time for them all.

    Game Over

    Very fascinating book about Nintendo's history, from the very beginning

    Boy and Going Solo by Roald Dahl

    These two books, which I own pooled into one thick hard cover, are all about Roald Dahl’s life. Yes, he normally does young level writing, but his childish backing makes the story read very well.

    The only books Ive read have been stuff that was forced upon me in school, so Ive been scared for life D:!~

    But Ive been interested in checking out Masters of Doom, looks quite interesting (although Ive heard it wasnt all that great from som people :G)

    im reading Pride and Prejudice for school. jane austen is an amazing author. *cough*.

    but in the real world iv been reading cryptonomicon and neuromancer, and i just finished snow crash

    very good books if u like the cyberpunk style

    oh and harry potter of course

    Im currently re-reading the Riftwar saga (Magician, Silverthorn and A Darkness at Sethanon) by Raymond E Feist. He owns Tolkien. After reading them, I want to move onto the other books written by Feist.

    I've also recently been reading the series called "Left Behind", a series of books based on some peoples thoughts about what the end of the world is gonna be like, based on the bible. Its pretty cool

    hmmm recently i've been reading that book burce lee wrote....its all abit meaningless to me but i guess if i was a leet kung fu artist it would make perfect sense

    i enjoy reading the ny times but im too lazy to go out to buy it every day and i dont want to pay $600 for a yearly delivered subscription

    masters of doom is one of the most influential books I have read in a long time. Definetly worth a read for everyone on these forums.

    I like mystery & thrillers books, but I'm soo lazy it takes forever to read thru one. My favourite books are the Kurt Wallander series by Henning Mankell (swedish writer). But I like the Tolkien books too, The Hobbit, LOTR etc.

    finished Inside Delta Force by Eric Hanley recently

    Reading Bourne Supremacy right now...though i'm not getting into it as much as i've hoped.

    Then i have a bunch of business non-fiction.

    I suppose i should finish the 3rd book of Lord of the Rings some day.

    Not reading any books at the moment. But now that I see this thread I'm really tempted to buy one. I need something to help me not be bored on weekends (besides my digi cam)...

    Any suggestions? Let's hear!
