Thanks for the collation skdr, I am likewise well looking forwards to it.

Is there any word on a release date yet? (I was losing the will to live reading through the 10+ pages of dross in the other thread).

Nope, not yet. But given all the media provided as of yet, I assume it won't be taking too long now..

I'm certainly not holding my breath for its release, wouldn't be surprised if we don't see it out until 2009-2010, even when its looking like its fairly far into production. Remember Warcraft 3? When was the first time they showed that off? 2000? And it was released around 2004. Really hope this isn't the case, but I'm prepared for the worst.

Anyway, like I said in the old thread, anyone up for some Starcraft in the weekend? (Only if you haven't played in ages and wont kick ass that is ).

I lost my CD years ago

As for SC2, one thing I have noticed is absent from the trailers released so far, is the protoss carrier. I really hope they'll have it in there. That was my favorite unit, I'd always build a nice fleet of carriers. I'm really curious to see what old tactics will still work and which ones won't, and some of the new tactics that emerge. I hope they won't make me wait too long for it, hopefully before 2009

yea, we'd need to sort that out. I just thought that using bnet was the easiest way to go, but some people here are lame and didn't hold on to their beloved bought blizzard product, so they have to resort to their data security measure copies

So yea, latest or just 1.0?

Yay a peaceful thread. I might pick his up when it comes out. I haven't played an rts since Red Alert. I need some more gaming diversity, I've been playing multiplayer fps for the past 8 years.

Note sure if it's been posted, but I think this is the official trailer with all past clips in one 20 minute video with the dev commentary.

I love the Protoss units/buildings. Such a slick design to them.

    [edit]

Doh, it's on the official site too, of course

I just watched the gameplay videos and they show a good bunch of the new content and new features. They are definatly a must see.

I am definitely up for playing some SCBW(1.14, Hamachi), just catch me any day on msn! I have started playing again with a bunch of random other friends.

Regarding Warcraft 3 it was released in 2002, but yeah it was announced for a few years before that. WoW was also shown 3 years before it's release. Judging from the videos released so far, I highly doubt that there will go 3 years before we see the release of this baby.
