Tried the demo yesterday expecting the worst, but actually it works pretty damn well. I mean when I played the last mission of the demo I was really starting to like the controls and feel of the game. It's a pretty damn impressive and intuitive controls scheme with this tab based system, although the sensitivity of the camera is kinda mental at times. Having played through the GDI campaign on PC already (Saving the best for last!) I can definitely see why alot of the changes in the design have been made, but unlike many other multi platform games they actually work equally well on the PC and 360

Anyway, what you guys think? Am I nuts for actually being excited about an RTS on a console?

    interesting to say the least.

I remember C&C Red Alert Retalliation for what PlayStation good times there? RTS's definitely have a different feel on consoles thats for sure.

oh and the NOD campaign and later get even better

I played one of the original C&C's on the Playstation and I brought the PC version shortly after, it wasn't that bad and the PS never had an analogue stick. Later some friends and I played Red Alert two player and it was fine because you both had the same handicap... I still prefer a mouse though, and I've heard the 360 doesn't allow you to just to plug a USB mouse into it like the PS3 (supposedly) does. So I'll say you're not mental for liking a RTS on a console, but you are mental to choose a joypad over a mouse if you've the choice .

Well I am thinking about getting it for the 360 since it looks better than it does on my PC and runs better as well. Also it has points!

But yeah, one thing is playing the demo, another is playing through the entire game. It's probably bound to get frustrating in the later levels of the campaign or online.

I think for a game like C&C to be feasible on the later levels you'd need either lesser difficulty or a mouse. Although the 360's control scheme is probably good, RTS games can be serious bitches with mental clicking required.

From playing the demo, does it look like it's easier or is it about the same, controls aside?

I've really never liked playing these kind of games on a console, never can do what i want to do with a mouse, it's playable, just different which might become frustrating after a while.

As much as I applaud EA (yes I am applauding EA) for getting some fans of RTS on console with the BFME, I still prefer it on PC. I've can play BFME on 360 a little, but I'm finding the transition from M/K to controller to actually be more annoying than for shooters back when I first played Halo.

But if people like it on 360, I really hope it does well as it would be nice to open RTS games up to a broader audience (cause RTSessess are awesome)
