Time forced a sacrifice in my map, so there are no longer 4 floors. The top floor was gonna feel rather out of the way anyway, so scrapping it might not hurt gameplay as much as help it. Think I'm gonna call it a night and do the final push tomorrow; mostly just a bit of spit and polish anyway. Well, besides the rather important steps of putting in sounds, spawns, physics props and weapons that is Lets not be perfectionists people - get your maps in in whatever form you can manage by the deadline!

For all those that haven't finished or are about to upload a half-finished piece, I had an idea in #mapcore - instead of setting the deadline for sunday, why not just have the deadline set for an hour before the playtest - I mean there's no reason to cut it short if we aren't going to be able to test for a few days; and it gives people a chance to finish up their maps (it'd be a shame to miss out on some potentially great maps).

Just decide on the playtest. Some people mentioned the weekend would be best, and I have to agree - we set it for 2pm EST (7pm GMT, 8pm CET) and we should have time to get through the maps. The sevrer is going to have a timelimit of 10 minutes per map, so within an hour or two we should get through all of them.

Also gives people another week, until Saturday coming.

    Sound like a plan?

If you all agree, and you've already uploaded your map and you want to replace your map just say and I'll delete your current bsp so you can upload a new one.

    omfg I was there.

I can have my map up and running in time for this deadline - but is it really necessary to sit on them for a week? I actually hate the idea of extending the deadline again, but I do agree it's silly to just do nothing waiting for the playtest.

I agree - keep this deadline. It's moved several times already and after a point it gets unfair on those who worked hard to meet the earlier ones. I'm sure many of the maps would be a lot better with an extra week's work, but there would still be people complaining about the deadline when it next rolled around. I think we should bring an end to this one and move on to new things.

Bah, I wont have enough time to finish this, if the deadline is moved I will, but not if its tomorrow.

    Quote from buddy the designer

I guess the voting should be started when we will be past the testing on Rick's server, not just after the submissions, it will be more fair, I'd say start voting in a week after all maps are released and tested.

Me too. I Think it's the best way to evaluate the maps. we need some time to test it and to get everybody playing on the server.

About the deadline, My map is quite finished, but extra time is alway's better to polish it...
