Sorry about that then. I did read your post, but I guess I missed that part. But it seems I wasn't the only one who understood your post in that way.

I still stand by my opinion that you were the one being provocative on their forum. If they want to speak in german, that's up to them, they'll just have less players playing their mod.

I think KT's post could have been worded better, their attitude could have been better, so could his in the responses.

Well although I read all the other posts I just want to say something on this bit of yours.

Before, I know you didn't call them nazis (and from what I read you don't think they are nazis and or elitists whatsoever and you don't want to offend them).

OK.

1. "New to me was the fact that most Germans don't speak English." - Source? This is a prejudice and as for every other prejudice there is no proof. It is no fact.

2. "war past". Please do me a favour and explain what you mean by that (PM if you don't want to post here), I seriously do find this offensive! The problem is I see what prejudices do every day (against me and against others). I do not defend Germans because of any ideology, I just fucking hate prejudices, even if they are rather 'small' ones like saying Germans can't speak English.

You might even be correct with the importance for me, but just because I live in a country with a lot of prejudices against foreigners and this sickens me...

Killertomato i have read the thread two times now and still dont get why you are so angry. It's a german mod team with a *.de url. What did you expect?

Your first post was a little demanding imo. No wonder the welcome wasnt so warmhearted and when you compared the behaviour of the german board members with nationalist behaviour you disqualified yourself.

From my experience the average german speaks not very good english. Reasons are different.

1. the school system isnt the best in europe

2. the population is big enough that a second language isn't necessary to come far in life

3. On TV andf cinema everything is dubbed (as you self mentioned). Reason for this is again the big population. There is enough money in the country to dub everything and the quality is usualy decent (unlike dubbings in other countrys).

4. In east germany (16 million of the population) people learned russian in school till the fall of the berlin Wall. I for example had 6 years of russian in school and only 3 years english.
