    Anyways I still don't see why someone complains about a (mostly) German modteam which writes German in their forums.

    Every German I've ever spoken to has been able to speak English, those that didn't made an attempt to speak english and those that could not spoke German slow enough for my basic high-school German to work out.

    Now the French.....they speak French even when they speak perfectly good English. Not a problem...except when your in England. They get all frustrated that nobody understands it, then switches over into English and gets what they want.

    in holland it's like this:

    you get some basic english in elementry school.

    depending of which grade of education you take after elementry (we got 3 different grades) you have english + french or german.

    you have to finish at least 1 extra "foreign" language (you always have english)

    depending on which grade you choosed, you finish your highschool with atleast 2 languages, but most of the time 3 languages (dutch, english, german or french)

    after highschool, depending what kind of study your going to do, you have the choice to take english classes, also most of the time all the informatica(programming) classes are in english.

    This is the 2nd time you interpret my post the wrong way. You describe me as someone who's angry because of the fact they didn't roll out the red carpet for me. That's not true. I was disapointed by their blunt reaction on my post. That has nothing to do with pride. What is it with you, man? When I asked for opinions I didn't ask for offended Germans throwing dirt at me for bringing this up..

    Look at Nih, he thinks I'm comparing them to nazi's. That did not happen yet he read your post and thaught I did. This is incredibly frustrating for me.     New to me was the fact that most Germans don't speak English. I do think it has to do something with mentality, since most Nordic countries seem to have no problem to adept. And before you start throwning rocks at me aevirex, I'm not aiming at your war past. I think this is a bigger issue for you then it is for me or anyone else..

    Anyhow, for me it's better to conclude to say that this was not what I hoped for. The bright side is that I learned quite alot. Again.

    Sorry to anyone I might have offended. If you guys feel better about this: I'm not a Germany-hater and I certainly don't feel better about myself then I do about you.

    If I was to want to join a game community in German I'd be screwed...The only Language in kinda learned was French (Besides English).

    I don't believe Germans are evil at all for wanting to talk in thier own language. At the same time...I don't think I'd want to join a mod that I couldn't interact with.

    As for this Amercian globalization crap I've been hearing about...What did I miss? I live here and seem to have missed the memo.

    I have TOTAL respect for Europe in the fact that they learn at least 2 languages at such a young age. I'd have to say if Germans want to keep the website German...it's thier choice.

    The only downfall would be it could have been bigger/better with more help from French/English/Spanish etc... speaking people.

    maybe i should clear out some things:

    - germans have to learn english in school

    - there are still some mid-age / older people that cant speak english because they just didnt learn at school and where in no situation where they would ever use it

    - not every german uses his english skills so frequently as we do at mapcore, so dont be surprised if someone is kind of surprised if you talk english to him/her

    - localized movies are a common thing and i am glad that we have this. i would not have been able to understand all those kids/teen movies i watched with a crappy school english (yes i had really bad grades in english)

    - germans are not nazis we pretty much all learned our lesson.

    The fact is that everytime I go to Germany and try to talk with some people in english it is hard to find someone to talk. Now I know they have english in schools so really I don't know what to say

    Ok let's shed some light on all this shall we? And stop trolling for the trollings sake. There's no where Killertomato states that they should be some nazi's. It's not even to be understoud that he means that anywhere either.

    What i see him saying is that he thinks they are doing a bad call to lock out the rest of the world to getting hel/ideas from to their mod, aswell as getting them interested in playing it. Allthough i am a bit puzzled by the "Where does this reminds of?" but since i dont acyually knows what Killertomato means by that i would never assume anything. What it all boils down to is communication and the ability to communicate, which most of you evedently failed at. Communication isn't only to say what's on your mind or state your opinion, it's also to be able to understand/read some one that might not be able to use the right words at all times (and i dont mean just language barrier as in the languages we use to speak but even if we speak the same language some times people have difficulties to express them self). And of course to listen and/or talking/typing in a way that you can reach the one you are adressing, which also mean you have to learn how to read people, learn to understand them individually.

    When all that is said heres a scoop on English/French/German. It's an ancient truth that these three has allways being combating about being the global language for communication. I guess its coming from way back when these three contries was out colonizing the world. One to two generations back it is true they refused to talk english (french and germans that is) because they thought their language where the universal one. Now this might not be true anymore¨with younger generations, that as you all have said learns english in school these days, aswell as the new generation understand more then their parents/grandparents that being able to communicate globaly is way more importent than fighting over which should be the universal language. STILL many germans and french have problems communicate in englsih. I have seen this to many times to ever believe anything else. Now of course a community as mapcore there is amny germans and some french aswell and you say hey they talk/type good in english, well yes of course, they came here, they had an interest to learn english so they could read the tutorials and faq's, and other importent to them in their work of development, information. So theres nothing wierd at all that they are good in english at this site. But start to join German sites or french ones and even swedish such and theres a whole other story. And now i have ranted way to much then intended so i just cut here
