Just got out of a review meeting. 8/11 the Cafe's turn on (tomorrow). 8/16 CZ/ATI users pre-load. 8/18 CZ/ATI turns on. 8/17 HL-2 pre-load starts (textures, audio and other stuff that doesn't change).-Gabe Newell

once they preload i think theres a way to get the game out of the loaded files... hmmmm

I think it's only a partial preload. You never know.
Edit: (textures, audio and other stuff that doesn't change), just like it says...
plus it'll probably be encrypted, and they wont give you the key to you until you buy it. (so unless you are an uberl33t encryption hax, not just some kiddie breaking shared-key DRM, you won't get in)
