Don't add my map to voting pool. I was making low detail map for r_speeds <600-800 so it's not the same "type"...

Why don't we screw the contest. All competitive elements have been corrupted anyways. Just let everybody finnish their maps and make one mappack out of it. Why not?

I'm not sure what you mean with this. Care to explain?

    Of course!

I meant that all elements wich normally make sure there's sompetition are corrupted. In other words: the deadline has been delayed.

The setup was that everybody would have a certain amount of time and the competitive element was to create an as cool as possible dm level for Half-Life. In that time. If I where given a 2 months to create a dm level I would have come up with some whole other level. I would have added tons of extra details, thought it out much better (read: made the layout more complex and maybe even more fun) and made whole other decisions. Decisions that people who benefit from the extra time have the luxury to make.

But the bottomline is: LD is what this is all about. Not the contest. Not the deadline. So I dare to say: let all maps be finnished, make it a mappack and lets all enjoy it!

    Hope that's clear to you.

Maps will continue to be due on Monday. It'll stay a contest. We'll release a map pack later on with all the maps. But for now, you have until tommorow night to get yourstuff in.

The deadline won't be extended again... so like ferret said everyone should submit their maps untill tomorrow night. An entire day is enough to do some polishing and eventual bug fixing. I'm doing my final compile now, I'll post my map asap.

Well I started compiling my map last night, still ain't done. At 70% in LeafThread. I'll give it a few hours and see if it makes it through.

Hooray it moved! Its at 80%! So yeah I'm gonna go to work and hopefully when I get back in a few hours it'll be done. Once it gets thru VIS it shouldn't be much longer. RAD never took very long, maybe an hour or so. So don't close the contest yet! I'm done, its just compiling! Please

ahaha my map's got the coolest easter egg ever

ferret: I'm going to college now and I left my map compiling. I'll post it as soon as I get home so don't close the submissions till there.

Also, don't start the voting now. Leave another 3 or 4 days so people can properly test all the maps before voting.
