One of the best FPS games I've ever played.

I give it a high score because they delivered on exactly what they promised, no less, and certainly no more. There are things I don't like about the game, but I forgive them not because the developer is id, but because they achieved what they wanted. It was nice to play some throwback gameplay with pretty visuals. Eventually, when the graphics of all engines and future games gets closer to doom3 standards, we'll expect deeper and more elaborate gameplay. For now, I forgive the game design as it's the first of a new standard in graphics power. Hence I really can't wait to see what Doom3 mods come out.

I really like Doom 3. Even though it is far from anything new in the gameplay aspect, then I still think it does quite well with what its got. My only real complaint is that they should have added some more enemies because fighting the same fucking imps over the entire game does get quite boring, But yah, as Izu said, they delivered what they promised so I cant see how you can be disapointed (if you wus looking forward to it that is). A tiny thing that i noticed (not really anything that I didnt like btw), is that the game tends to get like spooky and scary the farther you get into it. I was like on the edge in the start, but now, near the end of the game, it just feels like any other shooter, and it does kinda lose some of the charm it had earlier on, but I guess that is to be expected

Alot people I've talked to have been like "omg omg I played Doom 3 and shat my pants!"... I just jumped in my chair a few times but that was it, no panic and screaming at all, not even goosebumps.

It got pretty predictable too, cause there was an Imp almost around every corner and behind every door.

The flashlight... gah, come on, it's the future and all you get is a Maglite for dark areas? And the player is disabled or something, cause you can't use both the flashlight and the pistol at the same time, as law enforcement does today.

Oh, and the "experiments-gone-wrong-and-we-opened-a-portal-to-another-world" concept is old. But since D3 is based on the D1&2 storylines...

    Summary:

Use flashlight > "Oh look , another Imp, gee I think I've killed 10 000 of these already!" > Switch to shotgun > "Uh oh, no flashlight! where did that Imp go?" > Press attack-button > Blood-splatter > "Ah there it is!"

To me, this was just another overall shooter. I am more like a "COME GET SOME!" gamer, and I don't get scared easily.

Yea, totally stupid, the marine should have night vision googles and the BFG with tons of ammo right from the start...........and a 360° protection shield. I mean, it's the future.

I thought it was a great game, and i would drone on about this and that, but instead i will just say that i agree mostly with Izuno's statement, meeting their own expectations, and mine as well. And well... its id Software, <3 id. Bugs are in every game, but the bugs didn't impede on my gaming experience so i felt it was a well built game and gaming experience.

funny, now that I am further into the game I am really seeing how repetitive the gameplay is. While I am intrigued by the story, I can't stand killing imps over and over again. And where are the rooms of like 50 enemies all shooting at you at once? Maybe they'll come soon.

The overuse of imps really does put a damper on the game later on

I got really fckn tired of em D:

But just wait until u meet the hell knights, those fuckers make it totally worth it ~
