Ok upon recently discovering that the hard ass of Gears of War that is Marcus Fenix is voiced none other than Bender of Futurama (John Di Maggio http://imdb.com/name/nm0224007/)

It got me thinking as to what in your opinion, is the best game character in terms of voice acting you've heard? You know, the ones who really out their heart into and make the character. I think the big ones would be, in my opinion :

Stephen Russell aka Garrett from thief http://imdb.com/name/nm0224007/

Terri Brosius aka Shodan from System Shock 2 http://imdb.com/name/nm1108615/

John Di Maggio aka Marcus Fenix from Gears of War http://imdb.com/name/nm0224007/

Jon st Jon aka Duke Nukem http://imdb.com/name/nm0820652/

James McCaffrey aka Max Payne http://imdb.com/name/nm0564548/

Jay Anthony Franke aka JC Denton Deus Ex http://imdb.com/name/nm0291152/

    What about you guys

Mike Shapiro as Barney Calhoun and The G-Man in Valve's Half-Life 2 was definitlly one of the best voice actors in the past. In general, Half-Life 2's voice acting was good (in the english version).

The Scientists in Half-Life were funny and didn't do a too bad job though they were not glorious.

i qft section_ei8ht what goes on sc - cool voice.

Right of the top of my head I'd probably mention most of the cast of HL2. Mainly because those voice actors accompanied the amazing facial animation of the extremely well, making them feel even more real, which is quite an accomplishment.

But yeah, Stephen Russell as Garrett is definitely worth being mentioned. Made the character feel so cool (and you! )

hmm the last I recall being remarkably impressed by the voice work was Gears of War. The voices were really cool and when talking about the script I thought that was very well done too.

"Everybody wants to see the Cole train baby!"

    No mention of Vice City?

Although Im not sure it counts as voice acting, the radio stations were always brilliant as well.
