It's been 1 1/2 years in the making but after a long long wait, it's finally here. AS_RECON, the latest masterpiece by legendary mapper 3D-Mike (de_survivor, dm_avalon) was just released for VIP Mod.

Pretty cool stuff, nice foliage props. A little bland though, where are the other areas?

looks kind of bland with a random tank in a random location.

Mike is a god, and I know he can create works of art. But I gotta agree with D3 and ferret, looks awfully bland and uninspired.

AS rocks though (it's just so misunderstood), I'd love a remake of as_riverside !

I would have a hard time calling this one a masterpiece, I was far more impressed with Avalon. Its a good map but unquestionably on the bland side.

Nothing but respek for 3d Mike though :3

I never really liked the look of this map :/ The models look a bit cartoony as well.

Some displacement surfaces with props scattered around is not exactly that exciting. Legendary mapper yes, masterpiece no.

Mike always made pretty maps, but I found the gameplay to be lacking <_<

I like the atmosphere in this though.

Nice enough map, but not was I was expecting to see considering the amount of time spent on it and Mike's reputation.
