Remember it's a DX 9 game, you wont need that much power so the 750MHZ thing is probably more accurate. Still, everyone knows minimum specs are always bullshit...

Yeah ain't that the truth; "this is as low as it could possibly go before it blue-screens your PC"

300MB of diskspace? I find that hard to believe judging by the size of this game...

It's probably not true at all. Considering that is something like the old HL specs.

Pulled these of the Stalker developer site (GSC's)

What are the recommended system requirements for the game?

AMD Athlon 64x2 4800+ or Intel Core 2 Duo

    1Gb RAM

3D Hardware Accelerator Card Required - 100% DirectXR 9.0c compatible 256MB (Geforce 7800, for example).

"It should be noted that at the start of the game development our initially targeted system requirements were much lower. As a result (and due to the lengthy game development) the game can be played well on lower-end systems (the game ships with two renders - DirectX 8 and DirectX 9 one).

Additionally, the game allows to scale various options for optimal performance. For the maximum quality and performance, the more powerful system you have, the better."

Can't recall the site, but it was one of the links the off. site offered as being links to official retailers.

Must've been the original specs or something. From way back.

Just played the demo, and oh my god this is such a disappointment.

The guns are in the worst possible FoV, they look totally squashed up and frankly, retarded. The animations for the guns are even worse, it seems like shit doesn't play properly or it skips a lot.

It's also really laggy even on relatively low settings.

I know it's only a beta demo, but jesus they have a lot of work to do before release.

How did you get your hands on the demo??

Searched the web but couldn't find ANYthing..

I hope it won't stay that laggy!

Ok so apparently this is an "old" demo, sounds like an excuse to me

But my god I hope it is an old beta, like 2 years old; because I don't know if I could play a whole game like that, maybe the gameplay is amazing, but aesthetics are very important to me

    Thanks for sharing!!

I think it looks pretty good but sure, the gameplay has to be the spine of the game since the graphics are pretty much outdated..

but the guns! they look so horrible, I will never be able to feel immersed with such weird fov.

I can't believe nobody ever said anything during the testing phase, or maybe they had a really really good reason on the technical side that forced them to keep that squashed up ugly crap, no idea.

    What a shame. I'm devastated.

You stupid cunts, that sounds like the old alpha demo that got released/leaked ages ago!

    "ONOES, STALKER IS TEH SUX!!111"

Why not actually wait for the thing to turn up properly before jumping to conclusions and crying in your pillows with disappointment over a half-assed edition of the game like it's solid Gold proof that the final article is crap.

It's like playing the leaked alpha of HL2 and declaring the full game to be shit even though you've not played it
