i guess you could always get a copy from the netherlands, if youre really eager on buying the game.. that is if you live near the border.

Can anyone here from Europe confirm the level of Stalker buzz in your country?

Stalker is #1 on the Top 20 Wanted list by gamestar.de (popular games website by the most read German games mag Gamestar).

A nerd riot would be the worst of all because who has more pent up frustration than a nerd?

A hands on. Eurogamer really seem to like it.

"Is it actually going to be any good? Thankfully, the answer seems to be a resounding "yes". In fact, lets make that a "YES", with capital letters and everything. With only a month and change before release, it's looking really good".

Man I haven't been this excited by a game's release for years, not even HL2 had me this interested. I only hope there's some money in my bank when it comes out

I dunno about where you live but the gamers and retailers in this town are so ignorant that it either won't be in the shops, or there'll be some copies left for me when I get down there

Eurogamer is actually one of the better sites, in my opinion. Its where I generally go for games news, reviews, etc...

Yeah, Eurogamer is one of the larger gaming sites out there and is wholly well-respected; I'm not sure what you were getting at by highlighting the 'euro' in the title. You're not a prejudiced American scumbag are you???

STALKER is still looking pretty good IMO. I think it'll be one of those games where the sheer scale of it will compensate for the parts that are beginning to show their age.

No, not at all. The news made my day.

Its just that Stalker is notable for being one of the two big name european developed games coming down the pike (Crysis being the other) and I don't know alot about the site so I'm not ready to entirely discount bias. Apparently as you say they're well respected, in all honesty, I really hope you're 100% right and its as good as they say :3

An FPS based around exploring the Chernobyl region... fuck yes this game could be the greatest thing ever

Couldn't agree more -I'm glad the RPG elements have been toned down a little, I like having the character consistent throughout the game, you don't suddenly get ungodly strength and super speed: you know your limits and can use your head to achieve goals, not just grind for hours and hours just so you can stroll through the harder missions.

This is going to be an amazing game, I can't wait. I have a semi-on already <_<

    Required

Operating System: Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP

Video Card: 16x Graphics Card: 32 MB 3D accelerated with DirectX (gforce2)

If this is true, then I'm definitly going to have this game...

    I read it like:

    Processor: Intel Pentium 3750 MHz

and got nuts but then read:

16x Graphics Card (Ok, maybe PCIe 16) with oh wait - fuck 32 MB ram geforce 2? oO and 300 mb disk and 128er ram - really a wtf situation ^^

I bet the reqs will be much higher or they made it totally scaleable but the game looks worse than hl1 on the lowend
